"Carol Vorderman MBE formally comes to the end of her 10 year commission after becoming the first female Honorary Group Captain and Ambassador for the RAF Air Cadets in its history in 2014." After a properly lovely chat and a cuppa with Chief of Air Staff Sir Rich Knighton and his immensely kind words last week, I'm a very happy woman. I've been formally involved in RAF Air Cadets and other aspects of RAF life for 10 years which has gone like the wind (no pilot pun intended). I am a pilot with a degree in Engineering, and have been a huge supporter of STEM & young people and education all of my life & I felt I could help as the first female Ambassador for RAF Air Cadets. Both of my children were cadets and Katie spent 4 years in RAF Air Squadron when she was at Cambridge. It’s been a wonderful 10 years and every moment spent with our Cadets & the incredible volunteers who run it at squadron level has been special, from being on camp with them at RIAT Royal International Air Tattoo to witnessing the incredible Musical abilities of so many young bands, from Space Camp, and them lining the red carpet and being on stage with me at the Pride of Britain Awards, to taking them to America to celebrate the F-35’s early days with Lockheed Martin. The 1 Group Carol Vorderman Award was created for the person within 1 Group who has voluntarily provided exemplary work for the Air Cadets each year and I felt hugely honoured for that. Thank you Air Cadets for some wonderful memories. I wish you all the very best for the future. But my association doesn't end here. I've worked with RAF Charities for almost 20 years including helping to raise money for the Bomber Command Memorial in Green Park. Hosting the Salute Area on the day of the memorial’s unveiling was an extraordinary honour. Here's to a vibrant future. Just a TINY number of happy pics from over the years.

Many people ask me about the story of Parashurama. Here it is. My father, Air Commodore MK Chandrasekhar was a proud air warrior who dedicated his life to protecting our skies. He was a master of the iconic Douglas DC-3 Dakota, an aircraft deeply tied to our nation’s history and my childhood 🇮🇳 To honour his legacy and our aviation history, I spent 5 years on a mission to rescue and restore a neglected Dakota from Ireland for the Indian Air Force. ✈️ Despite years of setbacks, the journey was worth it the moment I saw my father, then 80+, in that Dakota once again. Today, it stands proudly in #IAF colours as part of our vintage fleet, bearing the tail number VP-905. It is named #Parashurama, after the eternal warrior sage and sixth avatar of Vishnu. The story of Parashurama is a powerful reminder that if there is a will and decisive leadership, anything is possible. Patriotism is not just about words. It is about honouring the Indians who protected our country and preserving the military traditions that shaped those brave men. THE BOOK THAT GOT NKRUMAH DEPOSED? Today marks 59 years since pan-African icon and Ghana's founding leader Kwame Nkrumah was removed from office in a military coup engineered by the CIA. After leading Ghana to independence from British colonial rule in 1957, Nkrumah embarked on a mission to unite the African people on the continent and in the diaspora. It was his firm belief that Africans share not only a common history, but a common destiny. He was one of the founding leaders of the African Union's predecessor, the Organization of African Unity, in 1963. In a key speech at the opening summit, he eloquently made the case for African unity. He explained that true independence and prosperity could only be attained if African nations united on both the economic and political front. He said this was the only way they could defeat the menace posed by the neo-colonial system, which was hell-bent on maintaining its control over the continent, even as most countries attained 'flag independence.' To the CIA, revolutionary pan-African leaders like Nkrumah were a danger that needed to be 'neutralised.' Their words were seen as threats by the US establishment. It is perhaps telling that it was only after Nkrumah's overthrow that the IMF engaged in debt restructuring with Ghana. In this clip, Nkrumah's editorial assistant, June Milne, relates how his book - Neo-Colonialism, The Last Stage of Imperialism - was the last straw for the US. In it, he detailed how Western countries were looting Africa's resources. Milne claims the book spurred Washington into sponsoring the coup that removed him. “If Japan gambles again, it will only face a swifter defeat and a more disastrous loss,” warned China's foreign minister Wang Yi on February 14, 2026. Wang Yi, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and China's foreign minister, attended the #Munich Security Conference on Saturday, where he delivered a speech at the "China in the World" session and answered questions from the audience. When asked about China's responsibility regarding the resurgence of tensions in the Asia-Pacific region, Wang expressed his disagreement with the notion that regional tensions are escalating. Looking around the world, he noted that Asia remains the only region maintaining overall peace. Even the recent conflict on the Cambodia-Thailand border was swiftly resolved through the efforts of all parties, with China playing its part. China has become the mainstay of peace in Asia, Wang said. As a significant force for peace in the modern world, China will continue to play a constructive role in regional peace and stability, he added. Wang said that Asia is not without its challenges, and vigilance is required regarding recent dangerous trends in #Japan. Japan's sitting prime minister has gone so far as to publicly claim that a contingency in the #Taiwan Strait would constitute a "situation of existential crisis," allowing Japan to exercise the right of collective self-defense. Such a phenomenon is unimaginable in Europe, and this is the root cause of all these issues. Wang emphasized that the Japanese leader's erroneous remarks on the Taiwan question expose Japan's lingering ambitions to invade and colonize Taiwan, as well as the unyielding spirit of reviving militarism. Deaths that were almost triple the usual rate, according to sworn tribunal testimony. And so it was that the Ottawa Police – under the documented and well-proven influence of Public Health Agency of Canada personnel – suspended, investigated, charged, and convicted Detective Helen Grus of ‘Discreditable Conduct’ over an ‘unauthorized investigation’. The Tribunal officer’s written decision convicting Helen Grus amounts to a public admission that political corruption has infected both the Ottawa Police and the Tribunal. That decision claims Detective Grus should have asked for permission to investigate “due to the political and societal ramifications” of her inquiries. But the independence and autonomy of police officers has been the cornerstone of British and Canadian policing since 1829. For nearly 200 years, no officer ever needed permission to investigate a possible crime. Until now. In just five years, politicians have imposed new laws, policies, and practices designed to place operational policing directly under political control — weaponizing law enforcement to advance government agendas and punish dissent. No, I don't think so. I think Conor McGregor's tailoring is best understood in the context of how labor has been deskilled for almost 200 years. Let me explain. Before the mid-19th century, most men who were not manual laborers wore bespoke clothes. In other words, their clothes were made specifically for them, typically by women working in the home or by bespoke tailors. This is how the King of Spain gets his clothes. When he was 11 years old, his father brought him to see a bespoke tailor in Madrid named Jaime Gallo. Gallo made the King's clothes using traditional methods: he measured the King's body and then used those measurements to draft a paper pattern from scratch. This pattern, which serves as the garment's architectural blueprint, is used to mark and cut the cloth. The pieces are then roughly basted together into a wearable fitting garment. When the King tries on this garment, the tailor takes notes on what needs to be changed, deconstructs the garment, and makes the necessary adjustment. This process repeats three times — basted, forward, and final fitting — with each step bringing the garment to its final form. This is partly why the King's clothes fit so beautifully: they were made by a skilled tailor and refined through multiple fittings. More important, however, is Gallo's technical skill. Then it's time for your own private photoshoot, where you get to pose around Chesterfield field couches while wearing your jacket concealing a tiny knife. Someone once told me that the owner of Brimble and Clark holds a ceremony when he delivers a suit to you. When you come into the shop to pick up your suit, a painting is mechanically lowered to reveal a collection of tiny knives. The company owner takes one of the tiny knives, sews it behind your lapel, and then ceremoniously puts the jacket on you. Then it's time for your own private photoshoot, where you get to pose around Chesterfield field couches while wearing your jacket concealing a tiny knife. The purpose, of course, is simply to make the wearer feel good. The business person understands something important: how a customer feels is more important than whether the product is good. This is essentially the system we have today. The company owner, salesperson, fitter, customer, writer, and influencer often possess little technical knowledge. The remaining expertise is concentrated among pattern makers and garment workers at the very end of the supply chain. I think about this sometimes when I read about AI, as I think it represents yet another step towards the deskilling of labor. I'm not alone in my concerns. In giving feedback on the original exposure draft, the Law Council rightly outlined concerns that digital platform services lack the expertise and resources to identify and distinguish misinformation. The Human Rights Commission, who were missing in action during the pandemic, said the bill didn't strike the right balance between censorship of objectively untrue content and protection of freedom of expression. It seems this final bill hasn't adequately addressed either of these legitimate issues, so why is it being rushed through? I agree with Dr Phillip Altman, a pharmacologist with 40 years experience as a clinical trial and drug regulatory affairs consultant, who believes the biggest pedlars of misinformation during the pandemic were the government and unelected health bureaucrats. That's because they: falsely claimed that the experimental gene based mRNA injections were safe and effective when this was not supported by the available evidence, even from the pharmaceutical companies themselves; falsely claimed the senseless vaccine mandates would help to stop transmission when they were never tested for that; falsely claimed that COVID injections would keep you from getting COVID, getting seriously ill or going to hospital; falsely claimed that masks prevented transmission or infection; falsely claimed it was a pandemic of the unvaccinated; falsely claimed that early treatments were unsuitable; and falsely claimed that there was no clinical evidence to support ivermectin or hydroxychloroquine in the treatment of COVID-19. Worst of all was the vilification and censorship of doctors, academics and scientists who raised the alarm about the safety of the vaccines. But here's the rub: professional news services—mainstream media—are excluded from this bill. So they can lie or cause harm without fear of repercussions. Does anyone see a big red flag here? Based on what I've observed over the last nearly five years, it's the deliberate suppression of information by the media that is most sinister. This includes their failure to disclose the vested interests of so-called health experts, expert committees and institutions providing public advice; their failure to report on the doctors and health practitioners being deregistered and suspended for daring to disagree with the government's narrative; their failure to put pressure on the government to reveal the contractual arrangements with vaccine manufacturers; their failure to ask about the estimated 30,000 excess deaths since the rollout of the jabs; their failure to hold the TGA accountable for failing to investigate the more than 140,000 reports of adverse reactions to the jabs; their failure to highlight the minimal to near zero risk of COVID-19 in the young versus the risk to the elderly; and, most heinously, their failure to cover stories of the vaccine injured, including the thousands of injured Australians who aren't even eligible for compensation because of the illogically narrow eligibility criteria. We're constantly assured that the science is settled and bombarded with propaganda to follow the science, but surely this dogma has no place in science. Surely our doctors, academics and scientists must be free to ask questions about assertions and debate issues. These are truly unprecedented times. READ THE FULL TRANSCRIPT OF THE UNITED STATES' DURING TODAY'S UN SECURITY COUNCIL MEETING The United States is profoundly concerned and deeply disappointed by the renewed outbreak of violence in Eastern DRC. Today, I want to share additional information on the scale and sophistication of Rwanda’s involvement in the region. Since its re-emergence in 2021, Rwanda has maintained strategic control over its proxy armed group, M23, as well as M23’s political wing, the Congo River Alliance, also known as the AFC. Rwanda has deployed M23 and the AFC to further its geopolitical ambitions in Eastern DRC. Kigali has been directly involved in planning and executing the war, providing both military and political direction to M23 and the AFC. For years, the Rwandan Defence Forces (RDF) have supplied material, logistical, and training support to M23, and have fought alongside them in the DRC with approximately 5,000 to 7,000 troops as of early December — not accounting for any additional deployments during the recent escalation. In recent months, Rwanda has deployed multiple surface-to-air missile systems and other heavy, sophisticated weaponry into North and South Kivu to support M23 in its ongoing conflict with the DRC. Just this past weekend, M23 and Rwandan forces launched an offensive to seize Uvira, with RDF forces co-located on the frontlines with M23 fighters. We also have credible reports of increased use of suicide drones and artillery by both M23 and Rwanda, including artillery strikes into Burundi. Rather than a march toward peace — as seen in recent weeks under the leadership of President Trump through the Washington Accords — Rwanda is instead dragging the region back into greater instability and war. In light of the commitments made in Washington, we are deeply concerned about the continued presence of Rwandan military forces on Congolese soil in support of M23. The United States will use every tool at our disposal to hold accountable the spoilers of peace. We call on Rwanda to uphold its commitments and to fully recognize the Democratic Republic of Congo’s sovereign right to defend its territory, including the right to invite Burundian forces onto its land in response to aggression. We are engaging with all parties to urge restraint and to prevent further escalation — including calling for an end to hostile and ethnically charged anti-Tutsi rhetoric. As this Council continues to negotiate the renewal of the MONUSCO mandate, the United States will seek to ensure that the mission is empowered to support both the Doha and Washington agreements. While the parties themselves bear full responsibility for implementing these agreements, MONUSCO must have the freedom and capability to operate — including unimpeded mobility and logistical support. It is a sad hypocrisy that UN peacekeepers are under siege from forces backed by a UN member state — a state which also contributes troops to peacekeeping missions. The months-long M23 blockade on MONUSCO has severely impaired its ability to operate in and around Goma, as many have highlighted today. Furthermore, Rwanda continues to deploy surface-to-air missiles and conducts spoofing and jamming operations, effectively grounding MONUSCO’s air assets. Under such conditions, how can MONUSCO succeed? We demand the immediate cessation of these obstructions, which violate Rwanda’s and M23’s obligations under the Doha and Washington Agreements.
