Today marks a turning point in UK–Palestine relations — from recognition to action, from condemnation to consequence. This is my message following the historic announcement by the Rt Hon Ed Miliband in the British Parliament earlier today.

Let’s not forget Britain’s historical responsibility the Balfour Declaration and the British Mandate played a crucial role in creating the conditions that led to Israel’s establishment and the dispossession of Palestinians. Recognition today matters, but history cannot simply be erased. 🧐

Never was any Palestine its a name for a British mandate. Palestinian identity were made up by Soviet in the 1960s and before that it was the Jews who was the Palestinians under the British mandate they named mandate for Palestine.

It was the UK that created the mess in the first place.
