I have been seeing many photos of people handing out relief packages, and while this was necessary in the early days, I am concerned about how it affects the dignity of our people. I do not want Jamaica to be portrayed as a place where citizens are scrambling for food or fighting over packages. That is not who we are. We are an independent, proud people, even in times of hardship. If we are giving support, we must do it respectfully and quietly, protecting the dignity of those in distress. And those receiving help must also remember their dignity. This is why I announced that we will be transitioning away from handing out food packages. The system has become too politicized, who got, who didn’t get, and who was invited to distribute. That is not acceptable, and it is not the Jamaica we want to build. So we will move to a voucher or coupon system that allows people to purchase what they need directly, without stigma, without politics, and with their dignity intact.

Namping about pride, diversity, and equality 🐰: Namping with P’Keng today, as part of the younger generation who get to be here at the “Right to Love Celebration”, I feel that in today’s era, love has become much more diverse. Everyone has the right to love or not to love. We can choose to love anyone we want, or sometimes we may feel happy with ourselves and want to be on our own, we also have the right not to love anyone. There shouldn’t be pressure or expectations placed on one another. 🐰: Actually, I want everyone to look further than just love, beyond sexual orientation, and consider gender expression and gender identity, which are incredibly diverse. When we really look at it, that diversity is something beautiful that exists in our society today. I think both younger and older generations are trying to adjust and find common ground in being more open and accepting. Protests and marches up and down the country today and one message back - any package put forward must relieve hardship for ALL corners of society - this is a national crisis and people are hurting badly . These are ordinary decent people who don’t have the dart or the luas or Dublin bus to get them to work - a word of personal thanks to those who came up to me at the protests this morning to express sincere thanks for the work we are doing in Independent Ireland in standing up for the ordinary person

Tremendous turnout today in Ottawa. Thank you to Maxime Bernier for speaking so boldly against the abuse of child transition. Canada’s MPs unanimously passed a bill which made it a crime of ‘conversion therapy’ to object to your own child transitioning, but the real conversion therapy is telling children that they were born in the wrong body. There is no such thing as a transgender child. They’re called girls and boys and they are perfect just as they are! No drugs or scalpels needed!
