I didn't hear Penny call my name at the finish line. And tjo shem she tried. I think I know why I didn't hear her shout my name.....My goal was an 11:15 - 11:20 finish. We started in batches of 3 and I was in the 3rd wave. Out of habit, I switched my Garmin off twice at a water point and forgot to switch it back on for a while. My timing was off and I had no idea what time it was. I wasn't worried as I knew I was comfortably ahead of cut-off. At 72 kms, I heard a fellow runner tell another that "We have 2 and a half hours left to finish. We will come in at 11:10." Silly me didn't realize that these were group 2 runners and they had started earlier. Which meant I had even more time to finish and I'd caught up with many Group 2 runners. I had judged myself according to their progress. As I came closer to the finish line I saw the Group 3 clock say 10:58:22. I was stunned, mentally frozen so I switched off and chased my bronze medal with 1 minute 7 seconds to spare. A 10:58:53 finish was satisfying.

I never thought I would ever say this, but I have truly lost all my confidence today. A part of me still believes in my work and knows the value of what I have built here over the past five years. At the same time, I just feel faded. The people I associated with closely haven't supported me, and the majority of my collector base has left the space. I still took it on the chin and continued to show up because I blindly believed in what I do and I know what it has done for me. I never had a Plan B. There was never a backup plan, and that is exactly why I even got here in the first place. I was good for nothing but art, and that is the reason I have always said that art saved my life. But lately, it feels like it is the very thing that is going to kill me. I really don't know how I feel about everything anymore. I just don't know. But I am not going anywhere. This is my home, so I still gonna continue to show up! I just needed to get this off my chest.

I got the notification and froze. It didn’t register what I was clicking on. And then the second I did a head count up to 7, I burst into tears. And then I did not stop crying until about an hour ago. What surprised me was that I didn’t realise that I was still holding my breath. I didn’t know. I thought I felt that release when I saw them all on June 13th and then again on June 21st when yoongi posted on weverse. I was wrong. Because apparently, I was still only half relieved. Only half breathing. There was a part of me that was still aching, still incomplete. It’s occurring to me right now that I’ve just been brushing it off, the feeling that there was still a weight on my chest. All it took was to see 7 together on that live and the wind got knocked right out of my lungs. And everything broke. I broke. That heaviness on my chest vanished. You might call it an overreaction. Maybe it is. I don’t know. But hearing them all together, their laughter, seeing their faces, seeing yoongi— my heart genuinely felt like it was broken and put back together. It’s crazy how much I love them. How much they mean to me. Can’t believe this is it. We made it. This is what it was all for. Everything that happened, everything we fought for, everything we endured. Everytime we pushed back, everytime we stood our ground, all of it. It was for this. It was for them.
