Today Stripe closed my Capacity account. Reason: “unauthorized charges.” Disputes: 0. Their automated system can flag you for no reason, and you’re cooked. Always have backups: Paddle, LemonSqueezy, Polar etc

Literally me in 2022 It could be an AI algo miss. Support is very friendly and most of the time I hear something similar they fix it quickly. 🍀

Unfortunately it depends who you are talking to at stripe. Sometimes they help, sometimes they don’t

Sorry to hear! Curiosity, why not using directly lemon squeeze if you’re in Europe? Don’t you have to deal with tax issues?

Samuel Rondot's profile picture
Samuel Rondot1 year ago

I guess lemon squeeze will be same problem as it’s owned by Stripe :)

Finishing my first app soon. Would you recommend anything instead of Stripe to start with?

Samuel Rondot's profile picture
Samuel Rondot1 year ago

I do recommend Stripe, it’s the best. But I also suggest you to create other accounts on other payment gateways in case of this happen

@airwallex Never heard about this one !

@airwallex They're great. I like their payment gateway can take payments in your user's currency, then it lands in that currency account. You can then connect credit cards to that currency to pay for things. You can save a lot of forex fees doing this.

@airwallex Is it available in Europe ?

@airwallex Yes. It's an Aussie company founded by @awxjack with a lot of funding and cool tech.

Samuel, I created my own payment portal on I'll DM you to offer solutions. What Stripe does is disgusting and unacceptable. Do not tolerate it. We'll show you what is a loyal relation between processor and merchant. It's time to change 💪 I dm you

Automated systems offer efficiency but lack nuance. Due diligence is vital, but exploring alternatives is equally crucial for stability.

What I understand is that when such thing happens you need to be ready to enable another payment provider at a click of a button. Meaning having the whole setup process done to be able to switch quickly + withdrawing as often as possible money from the payment provider's account. Do I understand well?

Samuel Rondot's profile picture

Exactly 👍

Gotcha Sam. I think I need to include it into my roadmap then.

That’s quite sad and inevitable at the same point as you mention. Guess if you load em with shit loads of cash as enterprise do - they ain’t gonna make those rapid decisions. They see you small (relatively) and think they can do whatever they want cuz there won’t be any social backlash 🤷‍♂️

Hi, did you ever get this back?

FazzT's profile picture
FazzT1 year ago

What unauthorised transactions? Do they give you this information. Was it a case of coding logic not doing what it was suppose to do? Real transactions you were putting through to test the system? Surely even if this is automated on their end there has to be something in place?

Samuel Rondot's profile picture
Samuel Rondot1 year ago

No they didn’t tell me which transaction was unauthorized, and it wasn’t a test transaction from me

FazzT's profile picture
FazzT1 year ago

Well that’s alarming then.
