Open Source Surf has been a team effort to date, and we want to extend that to the world. We’ve open sourced Surf’s core on GitHub. You can now use Surf without a connection to Deta’s servers.

Open (& Local) Data Surf was always local first, but the data wasn’t user friendly. Now Surf stores your data in an open & common format. Much of Surf also works offline.

Open Models (incl. local) Plug into models of your choice. You can bring your own key, or setup a custom model. This includes Local LLMs.

Surf is an intelligent notebook designed to help you think better – to that end we’ve designed Surf to be open & personal. Let us know what you think.

BRAVO on going OSS. Thank you. Hopeful for a future rewrite in native code!!

open source, ui written in svelte, works on linux, you've just got a new user

please make a video on how to use it efficiently or how you're using it personally

this is awesome

Link pls or it’s closed

Very good guys!

OSS is the way for Deta. I loved the vision years ago, but you guys are notorious product killers. Only if I can own data I might give it a try.

Thank you for making this open source, amazing product. 😍

goated move

i love it so much, file over app browser, love it

This is very cool.

thank you.

mad respect for opensourcing it. can’t wait to try it out.

The best looking browser!!!!

Best reimagining of productivity tools I’ve seen. Feels like a combo of notion, browsers, and my OS

Holy shit this is an amazing idea 🤯🤯🤯

@grol what's the tldr here

tried surf beta many months ago. liked the idea but was not polished enough yet. but seeing the ongoing progress im inclined to download and try again

Incredible.

love how open it feels from models to local deployment, installing it right away let's launch/spotlight you guys on when it helps btw

Any docs on the scope of this? I’d love to contribute but don’t want to add bloat only I will use.

@ohmyeroor if you download the version from our site, there is expermental extension support!

It feel pretty laggy to me. What do you think is the performancr culprit?
