Morning rant from me, sorry in advance! Dafen School remains closed today. The amount of messages and conversations we have had with parents terrified to send their children to school is heartbreaking! We should NEVER be worried about sending our children to school yet here we are! Many parents have kept their children off school today. This is Wales.

Today, I commissioned the Busoga Zonal Presidential Industrial Hub in Jinja City! It is crucial that we revive our commitment to free education in primary and secondary schools. We can’t let school fees hinder our children’s future. Every parish should have access to free education without financial barriers. The NRM's vision was to ensure every child could learn without the burden of fees, and we must return to that principle. I am happy with our training programs at the hub, but we are going to expand them to include motor vehicle engineering and ICT.

#WATCH | Bidur, Nepal | "The devastation is beyond imagination," says the quick-thinking and fast-acting Principal of Tribhuvan Trishuli Secondary School, who saved 1,600 students from flash floods on 26th August Recounting the day the flash flood hit the area, Principal Rajendra Dawadi says, "At the time I got information, I was in a class. Within minutes, all teachers gathered and took the decision to vacate the school. We rang the school bell to alert. At this time, 900 students were present in the school. We also stopped school buses from reaching here. The moment one of the school buses crossed the new bridge, the old one collapsed. We all climbed uphill, and when we looked back, we saw the whole school was washed away. One of the teachers, Santosh Parihar, is missing. Education is very important, and we need to re-establish the school at a safe site. We will need the help of donations."
