Today we have launched a new report – The next stop: Making London’s buses better 🚍 🚏 #BetterLondonBuses 1/7

Buses are the most used form of public transport in London with nearly two billion journeys taking place every year 2/7

But despite their popularity, the journey time of the average London bus barely reaches 9mph – around the same speed as a humble chicken 🐓 3/7

Longer journey times make the bus less attractive to passengers, along with lack of information and on-board issues such as anti-social behaviour 4/7

Our report reveals the extent to which urgent action is needed if the bus is to turn around its fortunes and get the number of trips made by bus back in the black rather than stuck in the red 5/7

The Mayor wants to see 80% of all trips in London to be made on foot, by bike or public transport by 2041 – and we think the bus can play a big part in this 🚶 🚴‍♂️ 🚇 Just taking one extra bus trip each month would make a significant difference 🚍 6/7

I had a quick read of the document, that is fantastic and loads of great points made to help improve London's buses. 😁 I also have my suggestions to help improve bus services for London and beyond. 🙂

Hi guys, reminder about Hail and Ride. Would be a quick win to put in stops.

These buses are stuck, trying to get onto park lane. They're stuck because our halfwit @MayorofLondon and his sidekick @willnorman thought it was a good idea to have TWO cycle lanes running northbound along that stretch.

Removal of bus lanes to expand busy pedestrian areas during Covid, was understandable. *Keeping* such busy rds with no bus lanes, sacrifices public transport. Q: Any distinction being made between regular 🚲 &the huge spike in post covid delivery ebikes?
