AI spend is now one of the fastest-growing line items at every company, but here's the problem: it's invisible to traditional spend management. We experienced this firsthand at Brex, so we built Magpie: an internal tool that sources and normalizes AI spend across every vendor so we can break it down by model, customer, employee, and workflow. "100%. 100% doubling down." "I think it’s so funny because there is clearly very severe competition between Brex and Ramp. I have to admit, it’s entirely entertaining on X — and it might only exist on X, by the way. I don’t know if anybody else even knows about this, but it seems to take the tech world by storm. So how is that going to play into this next chapter and this new story for Brex?" "So first, we have huge respect for them. They’ve built an incredible company. And the thing that is remarkable is, yes, both of us are the new players, and Brex and Ramp combined probably have 3% of the U.S. market. So at the end of the day, we don’t spend a lot of time thinking about them. They probably don’t spend a lot of time thinking about us, because that is not who we’re really competing with. If you go into the deals and you look — you go out on the streets with the sales teams and you see who we’re actually seeing — it’s not Ramp, it’s not Brex. It’s Amex. It’s JPMorgan. It’s the big national banks. It’s Wells Fargo. It’s Citi. It’s Bank of America. Those are the players that are actually out there. And I would say, look, because of the scale of this thing, Brex will be the third-largest corporate card in the country after closing. So the real question is: how do we put this on a trajectory to be more meaningful for customers than Amex and JPMorgan? That’s really who we’re ultimately competing with now. For us, it’s sort of graduating how we think about the competitive set, and the set of outcomes we can build. Also, the set of tools available to us is different now — having a $6 billion marketing budget and a $6 billion R&D budget. It’s just a very different level of scale, brand presence, and reach across a variety of products. And we think there’s going to be space for many winners. But for us, this was a way of jumpstarting the competition for the next five to seven years, while still being really proud of what we’ve built — and of Brex becoming the biggest platform in the country."

France Minister of Transportation on Tesla's FSD in new video: "The safety trade-offs are not yet sufficient to authorize it as it currently stands. All the more so since this system is not a self-driving system; So what are our concerns? Without going into overly technical detail, there are several. First example: we've found that the system allows for speeding. Another example: according to the data we have, the system doesn't guarantee an optimal level of driver attention in urban settings and during the most complex maneuvers, such as lane changes, intersections, or roundabouts. So what are the next steps? We're currently continuing our technical discussions with the Netherlands, other European states, and Tesla to refine our analysis. Last week, a representative from the Ministry of Transport's services traveled to the Netherlands. I want to emphasize this: France supports these technologies, and their deployment must happen within a framework of trust that allows us to evaluate the systems and determine what adjustments FSD needs to guarantee a high level of safety. This autumn, I will also be bringing together the French autonomous vehicle ecosystem to present the levers that will accelerate the deployment of this technology and to set a direction for the coming years. In France, we're fortunate to have world-class automakers and automotive suppliers, as well as some of the best engineers in the world in artificial intelligence and digital technology. In Toronto, I met with senior executives of many leading Canadian companies, financial institutions, and investment funds. Just yesterday, Mark Carney and I signed the Declaration for a 100 Year Partnership and agreed on new support packages – from defense technologies to financing for energy and reconstruction. And today, we’re already talking with Canadian businesses about how to put all these agreements into practice for the shared interests of Ukraine and Canada. First and foremost, this is about the defense industry, energy, agriculture, banking, infrastructure, and support for our veterans. Importantly, Canadian businesses are genuinely interested in all of this. Together, we need to make this a win-win for both sides. Attracting investment now means laying the foundation for the recovery of our country. And those who stand with us during our most difficult time will certainly be with us going forward. In July, we shutdown trading at the Marabastad Retail Market because most of the traders were non-compliant. We were back at the market today for some good news. Trading has resumed. The City has worked with vendors to train them and to ensure they complied with by-laws. Traders have certificates of acceptability and first aid kits visible inside their stalls. They’ll all be issued with trading certificates. When we shutdown this market our intention was not to kill small businesses. Our objective is to ensure that businesses that operate in Tshwane do so lawfully in the best interest of the public. Along with MMC for Economic Development and Spatial Planning, Cllr Sarah Mabotsa, we are pleased with the work done by officials to turn this market around. City of Tshwane

And the most fascinating part is that new AI developments and tools come out so fast that everyone is constantly learning. I'd be willing to bet that if you're a complete beginner but spend 3 months of dedicated learning, you'd be fully caught up to power users. In other words: Spend 3 months learning → work 2-4x faster and future-proof yourself. There's so much opportunity for anyone who just starts now.
