Today, we're launching the completely rebuilt Bitcoin Node app for umbrelOS. It started with a simple question: What if running your own Bitcoin node wasn't just easy, but a genuinely beautiful experience? This is the result.

For most, using Bitcoin means relying on someone else's node. You ask a company for your balance. You ask them to relay your transaction. Running your own node ends this. It's how you use Bitcoin without intermediaries. We designed the new app with a single goal: to make running a node feel as intuitive as possible.

For example, we completely re-thought the dashboard. Instead of just data, it's designed to give you a calm, clear view of your node's place in the network. You can see blocks arriving, peers connecting, transactions relaying, and your connection to it all, at a glance. It's clarity, not complexity.

Our goal was to build an experience so fluid and so intuitive, you'll forget you're running one of the most powerful pieces of software in the world. The update is available now in the Umbrel App Store. We hope you like it. 🧡

Looks cool. Does this new interface make it easy to switch from Core to Knots? Is Knots presented as an equal alternative to Core in the app store?

In all honesty, this is pretty gross to even push Bitcoin Core at this point with how compromised they are. I think I will be using Start9 from here on out and running Knots like always.

Can I easily run Knots on Umbrel?
