Today, we’re officially launching OpenRoboto — Bittensor Subnet 80. We’re sharing the full vision: open weights, open data and open benchmarks, coordinated through Bittensor to continuously improve robotics models.

The next frontier of robotics shouldn’t be built behind closed doors. That’s why we built OpenRoboto: an open competition for robot-learning models. Miners fine-tune open VLA models, starting with π0.5, publish their weights and compete on reproducible benchmarks with randomized evaluation seeds.

One week since beta launch: miners across the network have submitted 26 models and beaten the base model three times, replacing it each time with a stronger model. The base model now reaches a 70.77% success rate on LIBERO-Pro, up from 50.3% at launch.

Real-world training data is robotics’ biggest bottleneck today. Even the best base model needs large, diverse datasets to improve, and most of that data still sits inside private labs. That’s why we’re building the Open Data Pool with our data partners. It will give miners access to real, structured robotics data to train on.

Our long-term goal is to move the strongest models from simulation to real robots, then into factories doing real production work. We’ll progress from public benchmarks to our own benchmark, then to real-robot validation and industrial deployment.
