Today, we’re releasing a feature that allows Claude to control your computer: Mouse, keyboard, and screen, giving it the ability to use any app. I believe this is especially useful if used with Dispatch, which allows you to remotely control Claude on your computer while you’re away.

This is releasing to macOS today, Windows will follow in the next few weeks. The entire computer use field is early - Claude will move slowly and deliberately, much slower than a human does today. To try it out, download the app from

This will work with both Claude Cowork and Claude Code Desktop. You can ask Claude to click all the buttons in a legacy app that you'd like to automate - or use it to help debug a native app you're working on. It's slow but giving Claude my mouse & keyboard is *so* exciting to me.

stop pushing new features and fix the usage in cc. i pay the $100 monthly sub and today usage has dropped considerably. i don't mind the usage changing. i mind @AnthropicAI hasn't said said anything about it. between coding and this. i'll choose coding.

We seriously need an AI-native OS. Having AI pretend to be a human user is dangerous. Even with isolation, a single bug can be exploited. Now it can click around your laptop. How many tokens are you burning when most apps dot natively support AI? The entire stack is bloated: [AI] [VM/Container] [OS] It should just be one thing: [AI OS]

who wants something like this decoupled from Anthropic? working on this now it's a cli written in Zig to screenshot, type, click and more. works on macOS and linux can be used by codex and opencode for example

Out of curiosity, has Anthropic been working on safeguards to prevent these capabilities from being used as forms of surveillance/invasion of privacy/ coercive use in abusive interpersonal scenarios/relationships or situations?

So the workflow in 2026 is: 1. Give Claude your computer 2. Leave the house 3. Come back to finished work We've gone from "AI is my assistant" to "I'm the one who opens the laptop for AI." Half joking. But the real unlock here isn't automation it's async building. A solo founder can literally ship features while sleeping. The gap between a 1-person company and a 10-person company just got smaller again.

OpenClaw already does all of this. I have been doing this three times a day, every single day, for a month.

the "moves slower than a human" detail is actually the right call. speed isn't the point here. auditability is. you need to follow what it's doing and catch it before something goes wrong. fast would actually be dangerous.
