NICE's chief medical officer, Professor Jonathan Benger, has welcomed the draft updated guidelines for menopause ⬇️

NICE welcomes constructive challenge and a broad range of views. The draft menopause guideline is live for public consultation from 17 November 2023 to 5 January 2024:

Stop gaslighting women. 6 weeks of (useless) CBT won't replace depleted hormones. Funny how now women are starting to rally and speak up about menopause that NICE / NHS push back.

Years of therapy including CBT and many antidepressants did absolutely nothing for any of my menopause symptoms, they made me much worse. HRT on the other hand…… wonderful, I finally have my life and health back. HANDS OFF OUR HRT!

Absolutely 💯 disappointed in this decision. We need more access to HRT not mote excuses for the NHS to fob us off with inappropriate treatment! A huge backwards step for women's health!

Why all the focus on cbt? It’s a physical loss of hormones like with thyroid issues. You wouldn’t suggest talking therapy for hypothyroidism.

I did wonder when you were going to insert men into menopause and gaslight women into thinking their VERY physical symptoms are “in their head”. Do you advise physically healthy males who think they’re women that they can talk it out and don’t need harmful wrong hormones or nah?

Who came up with this most putrid, misogynistic garbage? The menopause manifests in physical symptoms because it is a physical thing. You are saying it's all in women's minds, or people's minds as you would say. Seriously, gfy.

Next time I’m awake 4 times a night with sweats, I’ll look forward to my Cognitive Behaviour Therapy. You can take you #CBT and shove it. #Menopause

Very very disappointing, yet again women being badly let down by the health system. Let’s just all have a chat shall we, that’ll replace our missing hormones and protect us from umpteen different diseases 🙄🤦🏻♀️Really expected better from you @NICEComms
