I agree with Nana Chiraahene, Barima Mintah Afari II that the sanctity of the December election must not be sacrificed—the Electoral Commission has the responsibility to guarantee that sanctity. Our repeated calls on Jean Mensah and the Commission to ensure fairness and free elections continue to be rebuffed, but as Nana Chiraahene stated, the Commission must be careful to avoid plunging this country into chaos due to its avoidable mistakes and actions. The call for a forensic audit of the voter register is not a demand of the NDC alone. It is a legitimate demand from all peace-loving Ghanaians who desire a free, fair, and peaceful election on December 7. The assurance was made while the ABAS BYAKAGABA was briefing election observers at a meeting held at Mestil Hotel in Nsambya. He emphasized UPF’s commitment to maintaining law and order before, during, and after the electoral process to ensure a peaceful, free, and fair election.

Speaking at the Winter Session of the Lok Sabha on the issue of Election Reforms, harked back to the time our Constitutional founding fathers foresaw the need for different elections for different states at different times, also suggesting that the first and foremost reform that should be introduced should be adding of two more members in the selection committee of the Election Commission to ensure free and fair elections. Also proposed that the Election Commission must disclose the reasons for conducting SIR in order for the Parliament to understand what electoral issues are being encountered, apart from disclosing who has the source code for the EVMs to dispel the possibility of them being compromised. Also that Cash Transfers by Government’s on the eve of elections must be proscribed and the Anti Defection Law should be modified to bring Democracy back to the legislatures Watch me speak on these issues and more:
