She can’t take an average from class sizes across AB. Urban & rural class sizes are completely different. In rural we may have smaller class sizes, but one teacher might teach Math 20-1, 20-2 & 20-3 in the same class, in urban one teacher might teach only math 20-1 but w/ 45 kids

Sure 21 students per teacher is great….if every one of those students is a carbon copy. We are talking about humans, not apples. Not every class,/school/city has a homogeneous student demographic where you cant just number them off like a gym class splitting teams for kickball.

I have a class with 22 Ss diagnosed with mild moderate disabilities and another 4 ELL students (36 Ss in total). The fact that the premier is proposing a class cap on the number of students in a class with complex needs shows that she has no idea what classes look like.

The license plate displays behind her. Doesn’t get more tone deaf than this. I feel bad for our teachers, parents, and kids who have had their learning and daily life interrupted. She does not think this is a priority.

“We need to get to the bottom this” is always her response, but somehow she never gets to the bottom of it.
