This is what Malibu Grand Prix in Redwood City was like in the 1980s. It opened in 1979 and closed in August 2013. There were go-karts, video games, a photo booth, mini-golf, and probably countless first dates and birthday parties that took place there. It was so loved by the Bay! Malibu lasted for 34 years and is a core memory for so many generations of Bay Area families and locals who grew up going there. Sadly, the ghost of Malibu still haunts the side of Highway 101. I look at it every time I pass by. The palm trees are still there and they’re almost all dead. A part of me likes seeing the ruins. Another part of me wishes they would finally develop the lot so I wouldn’t have to see it anymore. I know that even when they do put a building there, I’ll still always think of Malibu whenever I drive by. source footage 🎥: Atari

This video of Sikh police officers is making the rounds in Canada, and earned some controversy with many pointing out how there happen to be so many of them. I have zero issue with this, as Sikhs are some of the best integrated people in any country they emigrate to. Notice that they are drawn to law enforcement as a profession. If every migrant were like the Sikhs there would be no concerns of “cultural enrichment.”

A girl from Mariupol says that eastern Ukraine is partly to blame for the war, because there were many vatniks there (in some cities even the majority of the population) who blindly believed Russian propaganda (this is not without the fault of pro-Russian Ukrainian oligarchs). And although many of them have repented now, it was they who created the environment suitable for the Russian invasion back then. And now the Mariupol woman is outraged that the east continues to live under Russian propaganda, which manipulates it, creating the inadmissibility of switching to the Ukrainian language and hatred for western Ukraine, which has been done all the time since 1991 for the sake of the split of Ukraine.

I mean, NPR spoke with a number of National Guard members from Ohio on the condition of anonymity, and they talked to them just the other day, November 10, and they talked about the deployment to various cities, including D.C. One said, this is not what I signed up for. Three of them declined voluntary deployments, and they were deeply uncomfortable with what they were doing. Has it been tense with the National Guard around?” Tom Manger: “So, it has not been tense as far as the public and the National Guard, but I think it's it really is no secret that many of the national Guard's folks, National Guard folks, don't understand what the purpose of their being there is. I know that I'll have quick interactions with them when I see them occasionally. And, you know, they'll – they'll roll their eyes. They'll – you know, one of them said that he thought it was a waste of time. And so, I – and I think they – they understood at first when they were deployed there with all the other federal resources. But then so many of the federal resources have been pulled back out of D.C. and yet, the National Guard has stayed there. And they're staying at – at first, it was the touristy spots. You saw them down near the museums and the monuments along the mall, and then it seemed like they that they were deployed to many of the downtown subway metro stations. And so, I know that – I don't – I don't feel like there's tension with the public and the National Guard or with their presence. But I do think that that that many of them wonder why they're there, why they're there, what their purpose is and how long they're going to be there. Tur: “Their presence is also under question whether it's legal. Last week, a federal judge ruled the trump administration's deployment of the National Guard in D.C. was unlawful, arguing it lacks authority and is violating the District of Columbia's sovereign powers, under the Home Rule Act. The Trump administration is appealing that order. They filed their appeal, Ken, last night.”

It was a gladdening and moving experience for me to witness a performance of the South African Girmitiya song ‘Ganga Maiya’ in Johannesburg. Another special part of this performance was the rendition in Tamil! This song carries with it hope and unbroken spirit of those who came here many years ago. They faced numerous hardships on the way but that did not deter them. They kept India alive in their hearts through songs and prayers. Thus, it is commendable to see this cultural connect kept alive.

I was 14/15 years old, living in Karachi, at the time 9/11 happened. The head principal of our school led victory cheers at the morning parade. Many people were jubilant. There was a sense in many that now was the time for all muslim armies to join together - a common dream that springs up every time there is even a little attack on any Western country. A wet dream of many Muslims across the spectrum, one day the Ummah will come together and fight the West. Even Mushraf took a few days to react one way or another, finally coming out to condemn the attacks to the disappointment of many Pakistanis. Make no mistake, Muslims are not your friends. Especially those from the subcontinent. They are the biggest majority of the minority in Britain. They are all bidding their time till they can act for their Ummah. Many people need to wake up. No, I am not being mean, or harsh, or unfair. It is not bigotry to see an ideology and a people who follow it dogmatically for what they are. They see themselves as other. They do not integrate, they do not assimilate. They declare themselves as your enemies by rejecting everything you stand for, while you remain timid to at least take their word for it. This isn't going to end well if you keep hiding from the facts. These are acts of dominance, plain and simple. This is the Muslims shifting from the Makkah phase to the Medina phase. When in Makkah at the start with only a handful of follower, Mohammad along with his band use to pray in private. All the verses were about peace and tolerance and all that jazz. And when he moved to Yathrib, and changed it to Medina, well the tone changed. Everything now could be done openly. Violence, death, glory, and conquest. The verses superseded the ones of before. Abrogation of the before. It is a learned behaviour from their prophet. Wake up before its too late.
