Together with U.S. Presidential Envoy, General Keith Kellogg, we visited Babyn Yar. A symbolic place. A place of deep sorrow. We honored the memory of the victims executed at Babyn Yar. We walked the memorial alley, met with rabbis from Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities, lit memorial candles, and... placed stones at the foot of the Menorah monument. Our identity is rooted in respect — for every nation, every faith, every tragedy. Today, the enemy is armed with drones and missiles. The alliance of evil — Russia, Iran, and North Korea — wages war against peaceful life, destroys cities, kills children. Shahed drones, Geran systems, KN-23 missiles, and artillery shells — two wars, one instrument of terror. The weaker Russia becomes, the safer the entire free and democratic world will be. Sanctions must be tougher. Weapons — stronger. Actions — bolder. Because dictators only understand strength. Babyn Yar became a symbol of the Holocaust. In 2022, it became a symbol of new war crimes. On March 1st, a Russian missile strike killed six people here — among them, a 12-year-old child. It’s the same Nazism, just under different colors. Unpunished evil always returns. Last night, Russia launched a massive combined strike that lasted nearly 10 hours. 18 missiles, including ballistic ones, and around 400 attack drones were used — nearly 200 of them were "shaheds." The main target of the attack was Kyiv and the region. Chernihiv, Sumy, Poltava, Kirovohrad, and Kharkiv regions also came under fire. Sadly, two people were reported killed in Kyiv — my condolences to their families and loved ones. As of now, we know of 16 people injured. This is a clear escalation of terror by Russia — hundreds of "shaheds" every night, constant strikes, and massive attacks on Ukrainian cities. This demands that we speed things up. Sanctions must be imposed faster, and pressure on Russia must be strong enough that they truly feel the consequences of their terror. There’s a need for quicker action from our partners in investing in weapons production and advancing technology. Today, I will be speaking with partners — in particular within the Coalition of the Willing — about additional funding for the production of interceptor drones and the supply of air defense systems for Ukraine. The objectives are absolutely clear. Such Russian attacks must be met with a tough response. And that is exactly what we will deliver.

Right now in Kyiv, first responders are clearing the rubble of an ordinary residential building after a Russian strike. Another massive attack against our cities and communities. Killings again. Tragically, at least 8 people have already been confirmed dead. One of them is a child. My condolences to all their families and loved ones. People may still be trapped under the rubble. It was in Crimea that Russia broke one of the basic rules of normal life among nations by illegally annexing Ukrainian Crimea. Today, together, we honored the memory of those killed by political repression at the Bykivnia Graves National Historical Memorial Preserve and also laid flowers at the Memorial Sign of Polish Burials. These historical events of Russia’s savagery remind us again and again that evil cannot remain unpunished; otherwise, repression and abuse return with renewed force. Now, when thousands of our people – prisoners of war and civilian detainees – remain in Russian captivity and are going through the same trials, it is important not to forget this. At all levels, the necessary efforts must be made to bring back each and every one of them. Today, we began the day with President of the Czech Republic Petr Pavel Petr Pavel and our meeting in Moshchun, Kyiv region – a place that is both symbolic and deeply memorable for all of us in Ukraine. The battles for Moshchun against the Russian occupiers played a crucial role in the defense of Kyiv, and therefore the defense of our entire country. Together, we honored the memory of our fallen warriors who fought for Ukraine’s freedom, and expressed our gratitude to all the heroes — thanks to whom we are here today – in Ukrainian Kyiv, in our independent state. And it will always be this way – we will definitely preserve Ukraine’s independence.

After the strikes on Iran's nuclear program facilities, there was a lot of uproar from Moscow — the Russian leadership performatively condemned the “missile-and-bomb” actions. Today, Moscow is silent after the Russian army carried out a completely cynical strike using Russian-Iranian Shahed drones and missiles against civilian infrastructure in Kyiv and other cities and communities of ours. In Kyiv alone, 5 apartment buildings were damaged — ordinary residential homes. So far, 6 people have been reported killed. Another person was killed in Bila Tserkva, Kyiv region, where a Shahed struck a hospital. My condolences to all their families and loved ones. Rescuers are currently clearing the rubble and providing assistance wherever it is needed. The strike damaged sites in four regions. In total, 352 drones were launched, including 159 Shaheds just overnight, along with 16 missiles. Preliminary reports indicate that ballistic weapons from North Korea were also used. A large number of drones and missiles were shot down by our air defenders — but not all. And everyone in countries neighbouring Russia, Iran, and North Korea should be thinking carefully about whether they could protect lives if this coalition of murderers persists and continues spreading their terror. Today, during my visit to the United Kingdom, I will be discussing this very issue with our partners — our defense, which must become the foundation of a much stronger collective security. We will also be negotiating new and powerful steps to increase pressure on Russia for this war and to put an end to the strikes.

Everyone knows how effective Patriot, IRIS-T, NASAMS, Hawk, and other modern air defense systems are. We need them here in Ukraine: in Kharkiv, Dnipro, Odesa, Mykolaiv, Kherson, Donbas, and other cities suffering Russian attacks. Every leader, every state, every ambassador who helps us with air defense now is not only a defender of life, but also one who reduces Russia’s temptation to wage war.
