Tokenisation and 'real world assets' market opportunity explained by Pierre Rochard

We're big fans @BitcoinPierre, but respectively disagree, tokenization can provide value: allows issuers to access global liquidity, faster settlement times, 24/7/365 trading, self-custody, P2P trading, and a big one: cost efficiency! This new capital markets can and should be anchored to Bitcoin--it's the main thesis behind Liquid...and with more than $2B worth of RWAs issued, we're well on our way! Let's connect and discuss more. 🤝

As much as I love @BitcoinPierre, the explanation given here as to why tokenisation of real world assets doesn't make sense is incorrect. 2 points: - The pizza box allows the pizza to be transported, not only these boxes need to be manufactured, the pizza cannot be moved without putting it in a box. From that point of view the one creating the best box wins. So it is indeed a market opportunity (as long as your box is better than previous boxes) - the reason tokenisation of real world assets doesn't make sense is entirely something else. If the token represents an entity existing outside of the network, its security and peg cannot be ensured in the network without an external "oracle". The oracle is by definition a centralised actor and destroys the narrative of decentralisation, censorship resistance and permissionless access. Moving the NASDAQ on chain won't be a better box.

@BitcoinPierre Yup

My bigger concern is the stablecoin push clearly starting from govt entities to try to support inflation and treasury markets to help deal with debt issues. They seem unethical like most things in fiat world. Give them a dollar - they create a second “stablecoin” dollar and give that to you. But they keep your original dollar and now get interest on investing it in treasuries. Let’s just all create stablecoins! 🎉 Am I correct on how that works?

@BitcoinPierre ty for this very much appreciated!

@BitcoinPierre So glad you clipped this segment! Saved me the work from having to do it. 😅 Great segment!

@BitcoinPierre Tokenization is like bringing traditional assets into the digital realm, unlocking new possibilities. Curious to see how DeFi adapts to incorporate real-world assets. Thoughts on @KelpDAO's potential role?

@BitcoinPierre Tokenization is changing the game for real-world assets 🌍. The potential is enormous, as it enables fractional ownership and increased liquidity. @BitcoinPierre is on point with the insights in the video. Anyone thinking about implications for travel or tech? ✈️🚉 @KaiTravelAI

@BitcoinPierre What about the opportunity for people in emerging markets that would like to buy Apple stock but can’t?
