The founders protected religious freedom. They didn’t establish Christianity as the national religion that’s why the Constitution contains no declaration of an official religion and the First Amendment bars Congress from establishing one.

They sure did. They even said our rights are endowed by our creator.

Oh fuck off Emmer. The founding fathers most certainly did not “create a Christian nation.” The Constitution mentions religion twice — to ban religious tests and prohibit establishment. It mentions "God" and "Jesus" zero times. The founders watched theocracy destroy Europe, then built something different. They wrote freedom OF religion, not freedom FOR Christianity. Defend the document they actually wrote.

The founders did NOT create a Christian nation. They created a nation where we’re free to observe whatever faith we choose. Many early settlers came to America specifically to escape religious persecution.

Completely false. We need to start requiring a history of this country test for people who want to run for office. The Founders explicitly banned religious tests for public office in the Constitution, and the First Amendment prohibits the government from establishing a religion. That’s the opposite of creating a Christian nation.

So that’s why the founders included a separation of church and state in the constitution. He needs to stop.

No, they didn’t. They were united in creating a secular government believing that religion is best protected when church and state are free from governmental interference.

The Founders also permitted slavery. Mistakes were made by rich landowners. We shouldn’t pretend that they were flawless. What they gave us was the Constitution, which put into writing that the government cannot make laws endorsing any individual religion. We defend THAT.
