The day brought injury and death to American citizens, and we sent our finest to the farthest parts of the earth in the pursuit of justice. Today we remember the loss of life that occurred on 9/11. We remember the men and women who perished during the most senseless and violent attacks on US soil. We also remember the lives lost as a result of that day. We remember the EMS personnel who succumbed to their injuries days, weeks and years later sustained during that day. We remember the service members and intelligence officers who died in the wars that followed the attack. We remember the civilians who deployed and died in the support of the wars. We remember the service members who took their lives as a result of the experience of war. Today we want to not only remember and honor those who died on 9/11, but everyone who fought and died as a result of that fateful day. We as a nation will never forget.

On Sunday, FDNY members and leaders took part in the Father Mychal Judge Walk of Remembrance. Hundreds gathered to honor and remember his bravery and dedication. Father Mychal Judge was a Franciscan Friar, Catholic Priest and FDNY Chaplain who rushed to the World Trade Center on 9/11. He offered prayers to the dead and comfort to the injured. He was killed when the North Tower collapsed. We will #NeverForget him.
