Could not agree more, odd thing as well, player development is being misunderstood for skills advancement, so what we are seeing now is players who can stick handle in a phone booth, but no idea when/where to apply the skill. And they are uncoachable when you try to explain it

Also all they see on phones are cone warriors. I’ve had kids come practice with my team and they excel at the skill work/skating but can’t play the game.

I don’t believe any of this. I’m sure 80 years ago they said this about radios, they said it about Nintendo when I was a kid…now phones.

I’ve said this for years kids are visual learners you can’t draw something on the board and have them understand.

I think this is nonsense. Visual learning has been proven more effective in studies. This is just backwards hockey coaches finally figuring it out that shouting instructions at kids doesn’t work. Video is now just a more accessible tool that good coaches should be using.
