This family always had a tradition- this great grandpa would always be the first person in the family to meet his grandchildren and great grandchildren when they were born. They kept this tradition until the day he died….. and even after that. A guy named Philip turned every old iPhone and iPad into a working second monitor for free. It is called OpenDisplay. It gives your Mac a real extended display using an Apple device you already own. You can use it for: > Messages > Spotify > Documentation > Video previews > Terminal windows > Reference material Download the sender on your Mac and the receiver on your iPhone or iPad. Connect them using WiFi or the charging cable. Your Mac creates another display, and you can drag any window onto it exactly like a normal monitor. The screen runs at native Retina resolution and can reach 60 FPS over USB. You can tap to click, drag windows with your finger, scroll using two fingers, and rotate the device into portrait mode. Barbell Deadlift - Preload and Wedge Take a deep inhale into a braced midsection. Grip the ground with toes and push into the ground with the whole foot - you should feel equally loaded between the hands and the feet. Crush grip the bar while using the lats to take the slack out of the bar. Without letting your knees go forward, bring your upper torso back until your shoulders are over or almost over the bar. If the bar is light, it will lift off the platform. If it is heavy, you will feel “wedged” between it and the platform. You are wedging correctly if you are feeling the hamstrings stretch like a bow and the glutes load. Do not drop your pelvis. If you have lost tension in the posterior chain, you have sat too low and/or let your knees slip forward. Do not hang onto the bar and drop your body back. If you have lost tension in the anterior chain, you have shifted the weight too much towards your heels and you will feel that your big toes are about to rise off the ground. Don’t train like a pitcher, train like an Olympic sprinter. When I was with the Phillies throwing in the mid-90s, I thought sprinting was eyewash. I just wanted to get bigger and stronger. But here’s the thing—the key to throwing harder isn’t to get bigger or stronger. It’s to train your central nervous system to fire faster. And sprinting is one of the best tests for how well your CNS is firing. Look at Roki Sasaki, who throws 103 mph. When researchers studied him, they found he had similar characteristics to an Olympic sprinter. Or Aroldis Chapman beating Billy Hamilton in a race—when Hamilton was the fastest runner in the MLB. Or even Shohei Ohtani stealing 50 bases last year. They’re elite at throwing and sprinting because they’re so efficient at firing their CNS. So if you want to take advantage of this, here’s what you do: – 2–3x per week, incorporate sprint variations (acceleration, weighted, max effort). – Do ~10 sprints per session. – Add rate of force development, VBT, and impulse-type training into your routine.
