gunn is a bad director, he only uses the same templates for each of his movies, repeating same tropes over and over again. Also from all we have seen already he doesn't understand the characters since he's turning S into a character that's relatable. S always has been an example

Understanding superman is fine. But what’s the point if he doesn’t understand humans?

Going off the showings for opening weekend in the four biggest theaters in my city, Superman is not looking good. The worst thing James Gunn could have done was telling the public that this movie is "political"; you aren’t supposed to tell the audience that ahead of time. You are supposed to let the audience make up its own mind about themes and subtext of the film, that is how art works; it’s kind of like comedy, if you have to explain why a joke is funny, it kind of defeats the purpose, you know? And no, the suit is bad and cheap, it’s the worst Superman suit to date. Have you seen how thick the cuffs are? The bomb disposal suit from The Hurt Locker looks lighter and more comfortable, lol. But I don’t think this was due to lack of effort or vision; I think they got hit hard by deadlines once the strike was over and understandably had to cut some corners. I don't see why we have to put lipstick on every pig - constructive criticism should always be welcome and just because you acknowledge a films weaker points - doesn't mean you don't like it or don't want it to do well. I'm still very excited for this film - James is way out of the safe zone with this one and I am cheering him on - hopeful that he can land this plane. But we have to stop with this - let's put lipstick on every pig mentality? As commentators shouldn't we champion critical thinking? I think we should.
