Automatically, it will connect with your phone when you walk by” “Yeah, so these are gonna be very, very big on the light pollution side, but also on the profit side for the people that are behind this. And what it does is it has something called Radar Connect — and what that is, some outdoor advertising that syncs with the lidar in your phone as you walk by. And as you walk by, you might see an advertisement outside for Sephora, and then the next time you open your phone, you will see an ad for Sephora. So it's very invasive. No one asked for this, but one city manager, Elaine Polachek, was behind all of this, and she worked on the legislation while she was also on the board of the actual company that's lobbying to do this.
