Early afternoon Lake Geneva and surrounding areas got hit with significant straight line wind gusts! Units from around all of Southeastern Wisconsin were called to the city with a MABAS 5th alarm for the extensive amount of damage in town. Being that it is the Fourth of July weekend there were a large amount of tourists outside and on the lake as the storm rolled in. Therefore extensive rescue boats and sonar teams were requested as well to help in the efforts of saving boats and other water vessels that were affected. Reports have come in of missing persons on the water as the search is ongoing. Photos below showing some of the damage on the north side of town We were live just to the east as this storm tried to produce a tornado moments after the storm impacted this area. The National Weather Service has received reports of widespread wind and hail damage across the area, including trees snapped and uprooted, power lines down, homes damaged and railroad cars overturned. At this point, there are no directly measured wind speeds from the storm, so we don’t yet know exactly how strong the winds were. However, the damage pattern is providing some important clues. Videos and photos show numerous trees knocked down in the same direction, which is consistent with strong, straight-line winds. There is currently no obvious convergent damage signature suggesting a tornado in the areas documented so far. That said, the investigation isn’t over. The National Weather Service has a survey team heading to Lynndyl to assess the damage firsthand. They’ll be looking closely at the damage pattern, vegetation, structures and other evidence to determine how intense the winds were and whether anything more significant occurred. So for now, the big question remains: Just how strong were the winds in Lynndyl? We should have a much better answer after the survey is completed, weather permitting. [ONE KILLED AND ANOTHER INJURED BY A MOB IN A STOCKTHEFT RELATED INCIDENT] Police at Verena are investigating a stock theft related incident whereby two male persons were reportedly cornered and assaulted by an unidentified group of people after being reportedly found with livestock believed to have been stolen. One of the alleged suspects died whilst the other one sustained some injuries. The incident occurred in Verena on Wednesday, 24 December 2024. According to a report, Police as well Medical Emergency Services were called to the scene, and it was during this period when one of the men was pronounced dead, while the other was taken to the hospital for treatment. He is currently hospitalized under Police guard. The incident is believed to be linked to stocktheft incident, where 26 cattle, six goats, and a donkey were reportedly stolen from a certain farm in Verena. The Police investigation indicates that a shepherd was attacked earlier that day then robbed of an undisclosed amount of cash. Thereafter, the suspects are believed to have fled the scene in two bakkies with trailers when their vehicles got stuck in the mud, leading to their capture and attack by the mob. Two bakkies were also torched during the incident.

City Boy Movement's bus involved in a ghastly accident along the expressway, very close to Ibadan By ShollyB Media There was panic this morning along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway after a bus branded with the City Boy Movement logo was involved in a ghastly motor accident, very close to Ibadan. According to eyewitnesses at the scene, the bus, which is known to belong to the support group of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, was travelling along the expressway when the accident occurred. The exact cause of the crash is yet to be ascertained as at press time. Passersby and other motorists were seen making frantic efforts to rescue occupants and clear the wreckage, while traffic built up along that stretch of the road. As at the time of filing this report, the number of persons injured and the extent of damage to the bus are yet to be officially confirmed.
