That's awesome. It would also be good to animate how wind shear transitions into a rotating vertical updraft.

Cool visual! Question. Where does the original rotating cylinder of air originate? Baroclinic region from outflows and inflows? Or just some swirly of air due to topography? Both?

It’s not perfectly understood, but the mainstream consensus is that in most cases it comes from horizontal vorticity (generated baroclinically within cold pools) being tilted into a vertical orientation and transported underneath the mesocyclone by downdrafts.

Cylinder density is a constant, but when a tornado affects its condensation width ie multi vortex Vs a stovepipe shape, does that change that density in any considerable way or is it negligible?
