Aravalli Mountain Range Is SACRED , Was known as “Arvuda” or “Arbuda” in ancient times and in our scriptures as “Teerth”. - Rishi Vashishth lived and performed his Tapasya in Arvuda. - Lord Ram Studied in Vashishth Ashram in Arvuda (Aravali) - Mahabharat mentions Arbuda ततो गच्छेत धर्मज्ञं हिमवत्सुतमर्बुदम् । पृथिव्यां यत्र वै छिद्रं पूर्वमासीद्युधिष्ठिर ॥, Mahabharat,Vana Parva, Chapter 80.8 - Skanda Purana mentions Arvuda as Teerth Verse 7.3.1.6 तेषां मध्येऽर्बुदोनाम सर्वपापहरोऽनघः । अस्पृष्टः कलिदोषेण वसिष्ठस्य प्रभावतः ॥ 6 ॥ “Among them is (the place) called Arbuda, sin-destroying and pure, unaffected by the faults of Kali-yuga, due to Vasiṣṭha’s power.” Verse 7.3.1.7 पुनन्ति सर्वतीर्थानि स्नानदानादिकैर्यथा । अर्बुदो दर्शनादेव सर्वपापहरो नृणाम् ॥ 7 ॥ “Other tīrthas purify through bathing, charity, and such acts, but Arbuda destroys all sins for people simply by being seen (darśana).” -Mount Abu literal derivation is also from Arbuda. - Aravalis are the oldest folded mountains in the world, older than the Himalayas. 1.5 billion years old. - Aravalis stopped Desertization of India.
