Love the analogy, I use this one often, too. The true believers may burn a finger, but in their warped minds the solution is to apply the whole hand as the fix, and eventually they not only set themselves on fire, they burn down the entire room and house with everyone else in it.

I just worry about those who earn under $40k and can't afford to move out of NYC. They're not the ones who voted for it and they'll be the ones who suffer the most. It's really f'd up.

Everyone who voted for that moron should be forced to stay and reap the harvest of socialism. They will quickly find it is impossible to reap where you have not sown and when all people with enough common sense to leave are gone, whose money will they spend?

I agree in principal, my concern is that when they "touch it" and it fails, they will make excuses and demand more external support. We need some mechanism for isolating the damage and preventing it from spreading when it fails.
