Another community note, referring to a system in France… how can these community notes get passed? This is a Chinese system, not operated in France.

How can these community notes that are referencing even the wrong system even stay on the post? The community says this is the Translohr system, which is not. Translohr system has a mono-rail to guide the carts, which is super clear on the linked Wikipedia page. This is a purely visual system, built in China, not using a rail at all but instead painted lines. So community note is STILL incorrect 🫡🤷🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

Should also add, this system has 4.3M daily riders in the multiple cities it’s operating at in China. Cost of deployment is about 4-5 times cheaper than rail systems. Can easily be shifted if new routes seem more important.

This is the latest, state of the art e-tram system. It’s not confined to 3 carts, but can connect more. Each cart is self-propelled and 100% electric with an 630kWh onboard battery system. It’s navigating using a collection of sensors, BeiDou (Chinese satellite navigation system) that’s more accurate than the GPS system. It also uses LiDAR, cameras and a driver. It’s about 5x cheaper to deploy and operate than a typical tramline. It’s not too be confused with an older BRT system. Like the ones found in Brazil that has +10M daily passengers While I see the use of tunnels and metros. I still think that we will see more and more of these system deployed as less and less cars will operate in our cities in the next 15 years.

The system is called ART Autonomous Rail Rapid Transit It’s a guided, bi-articulated bus

Here is a documentary on the system that’s in my first post. It’s in Chinese.

Otherwise known as a bus.

You see what I did there right? Also this is what people think. But how many 4 cart busses have you seen around?

So basically an autonomous bus that looks like a train guided by its own purpose build road lanes that will end up costing significantly more than existing buses. 👀

It’s 5x cheaper to operate than trams and have the equivalent if not higher capacity. This system has +4M daily riders already.
