Donald Trump should give all of the planet's population a penny for every time he used the term "trade deficit."

I mean, you can calculate a trade balance, but it's an utterly irrelevant figure to benchmark economic performance, both theoretically and in practice. There's no correlation between a country's trade balance and it's performance.

So the American lumber company that gets undercut by subsidized Canadian lumber that's cut with lower wages, where is the win win for them?

Or the chinese goods that are made with slave labour, with artifically manipulated currency to give them a 40% advantage?
