TRADING HIGH-VOLATILITY ENVIRONMENTS High-volatility environments are the ones we live for. That is when we size up aggressively & make all of our big money, right? That is the mindset of many traders & I think they're missing this key concept which leads to so many blowups.

Are you a sophisticated investor that is bullish on big tech stocks? Learn more about $BULZ here:

Yes exactly traders are programmed by the social media that only High volatility leads to big gains. False, High volatility most of the time = Bad volatility and difficult for most entry model. Big volatility requires better fundamentals understanding and this is where they go wrong about it IMO

Thanks for clarifying. You seem to be claiming that the EV is often higher in high vol regimes. Maybe sometimes that's true but not sure it's true in general. That $2 to $5 reward increase is good, but surely the $0.50 risk increases to about $1 too right? Is EV really higher?

It is true that expected value is higher during high vol. by definition, larger amounts of price discovery are going on. That is why pretty much every trading desk on the planet tends to thrive in high vol enviros… so yes, it is

great stuff

Can you give example, I need extra clarification please.

Absolute legend for the Leroy Jenkins reference

its one thing to be in a high vol sector and you grow your size with it as confidence and profit padding increase its another to jump into the high vol out of nowhere, and use same or bigger size expecting the opportunity to take you places (and get rekt)
