A thread🧵 Full cellphone extractions, sometimes called forensic images, generate what’s called a “hash value”, which serves as a unique digital fingerprint necessary for ensuring the integrity of data. Any discrepancy between the hash values indicates tampering with or corruption of evidence, alerting forensic examiners to potential issues with the evidence. Hash verification is a fundamental principle and a rather ubiquitous practice in the world of digital forensics, where data validation and verification are key. It is the gold standard across the industry, and has also become so in the courtroom, whereby admissibility of digital evidence is determined by its relevance, authenticity and reliability. In court, the hash value can be used to demonstrate that the evidence has not been altered since its collection, and is a universal way for experts to authenticate and validate the reliability of data for the trial Court. But, an extraction that’s missing a hash value altogether is a huge red flag. 🚩 Who removed the hash value? And why? It’s necessary to the chain of custody, and as Gaurino and Tully would be well aware, it’s also an element of the data that an expert would require in order to verify and validate it. Instead of taking it at face value, I fed the video and years of historical Nifty data into Gemini AI. By the time my coffee was ready, the AI backtested 20+ years of data. ✅ Scenario 1 - If the high price on Friday is lower than the high price on Thursday. The low price reached on Friday will be revisited during the regular trading session on Monday. Accuracy of this condition is 57.2%. Not 90% as mentioned by the expert, but a statistically significant advantage you can actually build a strategy around. ❌ Scenario 2: If the high price on Wednesday is lower than the high price on Monday. The low price reached on Wednesday will be revisited on Thursday. A literal 50.8% accuracy only. We live in an era where you can validate any trading idea instantly.

The 2008 financial crisis led to the creation of Bitcoin because toxic assets were created by a poorly managed financial system that left society with the costs. We have an opportunity to build a better financial system that is cryptographically guaranteed, transparent, and gives control of risk over to the parties that it affects most. Our work on Chainlink and CCIP seeks to accelerate the speed at which this world happens on-chain. From secure data delivery to decentralized compute and now cross-chain interoperability, Chainlink is protecting dApps and their end users to deliver the true value of smart contracts and DeFi: a fair, transparent and largely derisked global financial system. As CCIP becomes the most widely used connectivity standard, we will initially see two largely separate on-chain networks of value: one for institutional/bank chains and the existing public blockchain DeFi ecosystem.
