@swishcultures_ I think it's fair to say that both are needed. Allen Iverson said that he preferred scrimmages over drills but he mainly got by on being quicker than everyone else. International players are said to work on every skill.

@swishcultures_ This is gospel. Even in baseball, things like outfield assist attempts with a speedy runner going 1st to third, small crowd, umpires, wet field, a meaningful game tying run. The urgency of the play can’t be recreated drilling in your indoor facility.
