A man who was aboard a bus that crashed along the N1 highway in Musina said the bus driver fell asleep and lost control of the vehicle. A man who identified himself as the assistant driver claims the man behind the wheel fell asleep and lost control of the bus. “The driver was sleeping, and a police officer woke him up. He told the driver to go to Musina to register and take the fingerprints of the passengers. When the driver started the bus, he was already exhausted and failed to control the bus.”

Harshita, who is pursuing paramedical studies at Siddaramaiah Hospital in Tumkur, was caught in a chaotic situation caused by a sudden surge in passengers. According to reports, the bus was scheduled to travel from Tumkur to Madhugiri. As passengers rushed to board, a stampede-like situation developed due to overcrowding and a lack of proper crowd management. In the confusion, Harshita lost her balance and fell near the bus. Tragically, one of the bus’s tires ran over her leg, resulting in a severe fracture. Emergency services were immediately alerted, and she was promptly transported by Sadu Ambulance to the district hospital in Tumkur. She is currently undergoing treatment for her injuries. Medical staff have confirmed that her leg was broken in the accident, and she is receiving the necessary care.
