Well yea, it only able to register a limited amount of those sticky bombs. I forget what the limit is (4, 6, 8?) but once you hit that number and throw a new one, the oldest sticky gets removed from existence. So all that throwing essentially was useless except the last 6-8, which is why they got the explosion on only the last cars he filled
