Jimin thrived and excelled throughout a difficult military service. He was named Special Class Warrior (or Special Grade Soldier) and Sergeant (highest rank for mandatory South Korean army). He received top awards since training up until serving in the demanding artillery unit right in the frontline. Fellow soldiers dubbed him as "꼬 (Go for GOAT) Jimin" and "Ace".
