The pressing team must get the ball out three times, upon completion they switch with one of the other teams. The attacking players can use two touches in the cones, to create time on the ball, but only one touch in the square. The two central players always have free touches

The mannequins are there to block simple passes between the cones, forcing the ball to be played through the central square, encouraging combinations with the two central players

Hey David, I like your idea of using mannequins (or large cones) to block off certain passing lanes. What do you mean that the central players have free touches? I was unclear because it sounds like there’s only 1 touch in the central zone…?

Yes, not clear enough from me. Of the six in possession, two are placed in the middle. Those 2 have free touches everywhere. The other 4, starting from the ‘cones’, have two touches in the cones and one when they step into the square. So the 2 central can always pause the game

Dave, what is the desired outcome of this exercise?

Hi mate - it’s a warm up for us, but working on activity to play, moving feet, adapting to new angles, changing rhythm, combining in tight spaces, which foot do I play to etc. And of course activating the brain and body for the session
