First understand what you are looking at before mocking it: this is a General Class railway coach, meant for passengers travelling without reserved seats, and it is not representative of every train or every Indian passenger experience; after nearly two centuries of British colonial rule and the enormous wealth extracted from India, it is rather ironic to lecture Indians about poverty and overcrowding while India today also operates the Maharajas’ Express, one of the world’s most luxurious trains, so perhaps instead of pointing fingers at India, Britain should also be willing to discuss its own problems with crime, sexual violence, murders, immigration pressures and the challenges facing its law and order system, because colonial history deserves honest discussion rather than selective mockery.
