My Researcher Agent - {Xinstein} was a HIT. It is performing very well. But now I want to take Xinstein to the next level. I am implementing the "Chain of Density" Summarization Technique. 🔥 💣 I’ve decided to “fire” myself after 14 years as CEO of CB Insights I'll still be working 180% at CBI but now in the role of Founder & Executive Chairman. In this role, my focus shifts to customer conversations, product, content & partnerships. One area I'll be spending a isht ton of time on is generative AI. And this is just the start more here on Analyst >> For those interested in “the why” behind this move, below are my comments to our team from our All Hands last week. Note: I'll intro CBI's new CEO tmw - his official 1st day --ALL HANDS-- Earlier this morning, I sent an email about my vision for the product from 2017. It relates to the news that I will share with you this AM. And that is that I have decided to "fire" myself as CEO and will be transitioning to the role of founder & exec chairman. Why? For 2 reasons: 1. Zone of genius 2. Delivering on the 2017 sci-fi vision 1st - Let's talk about zone of genius Talking to customers, hearing about their challenges and translating that to what we can build to make them supernatural is what I love. It’s where my "zone of genius" is As we’ve grown, however, I’m spending more time outside this zone If CBI is an organism, the early days required spending all my time outside the organism talking to customers, building dope isht for them, getting more customers & then building more dope isht. Rinse & repeat. It was 'simple' As the organism has grown, I've had to live "inside the organism" more focused on operations & management - 1:1s, annual planning, process mgmt, etc. These are incredibly important to scale a company. They are, however, not where my strengths and interests lie. I like the unknowns & novelty of what living outside the organism brings. And so I wanted to find a way to get back to those things. That’s the zone-of-genius bit. Now let’s turn to the sci-fi vision That vision really wasn’t possible. Until now. In Nov ‘22, chatGPT was an 'oh isht' moment. Since then, I’ve been fully red-pilled on GAI. With it, we can now actually deliver on that 2017 vision. Only 6 years later :) And so it’s go-time! I’m incredibly excited about what this will mean for our customers, the company and our team as it will enable us to: * Invest dramatically in product innovation * Open up new career opportunities & pathways for you all * Bring people together in person more often Where will I be focused? My job in the near term is to help onboard and integrate the new CEO. The areas you’ll still me involved in are: * Customer conversations -- #1 thing. * Research & content -- Writing the newsletter & other content w/ the team * Product -- Pushing our GAI agenda. * Partnerships I am not stepping off the field onto the sidelines. Not a single shred of evidence was provided that Elara or Rima enabled this behavior, but that's never stopped a good smear article before Luckily for Rima and Elara, and unluckily for myself, I opened my mouth and gave Vice a much better head to try to claim Vice's Managing Editor has seemingly now all but called for a new Gamergate style control and expulsion of the vTuber fandom. Valens is currently publicly @'ing every journalist they can think of to try and spread the story beyond their own influence. A BILLION DOLLAR media organization is sounding the alarm to target a lone content creator because I dare to share opinions or jokes they don't like I keep to my own lane. I don't collab with many other people. I tell people not to bring politics to non political creators streams, to not be disruptive to other communities, & ban when necessary These people will not stop with me. There have been creators that I've looked up to for years, that have reached out in some way or another, and that experience is enough to make me want to curl up into a ball and violently cry😭 I first started making videos around 2 years ago just for fun, and started streaming around 1.5 years ago, and to get this far has exceeded my whilst dreams. (For context I thought 1k subs in 5 years would have been INSANE) My whole life I've been on the straight and narrow, keeping things pretty safe… It was just how I was raised. But late last year, I did a lot of reflecting on what I really wanted to do in life, and what made me the happiest. This year I'm taking perhaps my first and biggest risk, and trying to do content full time. It's been rocky, chaotic and exhausting but I'm finally doing something I'm passionate about. PLEDIS MISTREATMENT TOWARDS HANJIN i've been thinking about this since yesterday when ana 𝜗𝜚 #1 hanjin stan ! missing ㅎㅈ spoke about this topic so i decided to share my thoughts/opinion about this one. so let’s talk about the issue of pledis gatekeeping or better yet hiding hanjin in the basement, because it’s honestly been too long. it’s already been almost two years since debut and they still couldn’t manage to treat him fairly. i just want to speak about it here and hope (really hope 🙄) that pl3d!s eventually makes progress on this issue. at this point, it’s becoming more and more obvious that pl3d!s is limiting hanjin’s opportunities especially when it comes to his lines, solo or duo gigs on variety shows, and overall screentime. let’s talk about his vocals and the unfair line distribution. despite debuting in a group that’s supposed to highlight vocal strength and musicality, hanjin has consistently received the least amount of lines. and when he does get lines, they’re often just repetitive adlibs, background harmonies, or single words. i didn’t witness their debut days in real time since i became a fan during the post-summer beat era, but looking back at their debut stages, it was already clear that hanjin barely had any lines and honestly, i understood. he’s chinese and at that time, he wasn’t fluent in korean (?), so it made some sense (?). even during summer beat, while the line distribution still wasn’t perfect, i accepted it because i knew he was still learning and he was improving. but after those two eras, i genuinely expected things to change. i hoped their second comeback (last bell) would give him more lines especially since by then, he had improved significantly in speaking , singing and understanding korean. yet pl3d!s still chose to give him mostly adlibs, lines shared with another member (“neowa na saiga” part), and those repetitive fillers like “lalalala-last” and “dadada-dance.” yes! that was all he got in the TITLE TRACK. hanjin stans have called out pledis for this blatant mistreatment, but the company remains completely unbothered. then when try with us came, we hoped things would change again and guess fvcking what? more repetitive lines AGAIN 🤬 (note: not counting now playing and go back, where he actually had decent parts but even then it’s frustrating and fvck pl3d!s) i totally understand why hanjin stans are disappointed. we’ve been speaking up about this for a long time, but pl3d!s keeps ignoring it. we’re not asking for favoritism we just want what hanjin deserves. he has so much potential as a vocalist, and the fact that he still doesn’t have a tws:tudio of his own speaks volumes. he’s one of the few members without it, and it hurts to see that. it’s so disappointing to witness this level of talent being constantly overlooked especially when fans can clearly see what hanjin brings to the group. instead of giving him the support and platform to grow, pl3d!s seems content with keeping him in the shadows. he has zero presence in variety shows (solo/duo/trio gigs) or promotional content, which is a huge issue for a rookie group still building their identity. every member matters and yet hanjin is repeatedly pushed aside. this isn’t just a matter of line distribution or screen time, it’s a consistent pattern that shows the company is actively gatekeeping his potential. that’s not just sad it’s unacceptable. still, with all that i said, i want to take a moment to genuinely appreciate hanjin. even with all the limitations placed on him, he still manages to shine. whether it’s through small moments on stage or quiet presence in group content, he continues to leave an impact. we see him, we support him, and we’ll keep showing up for him. we just hope pl3d!s will finally do the same.

HOW WE MAKE OUR TRIPS MAGICAL - Cooking classes. In Mexico City, our guide took us to the market, then we all made extra-spicy salsa together. This is a beautiful way to visit places you wouldn't know about and get involved in a tactile activity. Perfect for families and older parents and very inexpensive. - The $325 underwear. We'd been traveling for weeks and needed to do our laundry. Our hotel, Aman Kyoto, would have charged $325 for a small bag of laundry (standard price for all ultra-luxury hotels). I said "NO WAY!!!" and we decided to go into town and find a laundromat. It turned into an adventure (as we stumbled into place after place that wasn't quite right -- one lady translated for us and said, "Are you trying to wash your clothes? This isn't the right place. This place restores kimonos"). We finally found a local laundromat, took our best guess if it would work, and went to lunch. Now this is a fun ritual for us every time we travel. Sometimes cheaper is way more fun - We hire a local photographer. We love our memories of our trips and local photographers know the best spots/time to take photos. Find the best ones on Instagram. In Tokyo, we use the same photographer every year - On complex trips, I work with a travel advisor. I used a larger firm for a 6-week trip across multiple continents, which was invaluable: They helped us navigate different transportation, recommended which safari lodges to visit (and in what order), and even suggested where to economize & where to splurge. Sometimes I know exactly where I want to go so I call a more surgical travel advisor. In the video, he got our NYC hotel triple-upgraded. Or sometimes I just do it myself. TAs are especially helpful for Disney trips, honeymoons, and multi-generational trips. (They also cost you nothing, but you should look into how they work. I find them very valuable) - 1 major activity every two days. The ultimate luxury is time, so we have a rule: 4+ days in any location. We also book 1 major thing (food tour, museum, etc). The rest of the time, we've pinned a bunch of stuff and we wander where we feel like that day - We know exactly what we DON'T want to see. When I'm attending a private tour, I tell them what I want to experience and what I'm not interested in. Most tour guides will take you to the usual hotspots because it's safe and people can say they saw X or ate Y. I know exactly what I want to see. For example, on a coffee tour, I told them the exact kind of beans I wanted to try and what I was not into. People in hospitality love someone who knows what they want!! This level of intentionality means you get to experience magic (it's not rude) I travel several months per year and I want my travel to be incredibly meaningful for my loved ones and me. I find them very valuable) - 1 major activity every two days. The ultimate luxury is time, so we have a rule: 4+ days in any location. We also book 1 major thing (food tour, museum, etc). The rest of the time, we've pinned a bunch of stuff and we wander where we feel like that day - We know exactly what we DON'T want to see. When I'm attending a private tour, I tell them what I want to experience and what I'm not interested in. Most tour guides will take you to the usual hotspots because it's safe and people can say they saw X or ate Y. I know exactly what I want to see. For example, on a coffee tour, I told them the exact kind of beans I wanted to try and what I was not into. People in hospitality love someone who knows what they want!! This level of intentionality means you get to experience magic (it's not rude) I travel several months per year and I want my travel to be incredibly meaningful for my loved ones and me.
