🚨 This video shows that Charlie Cox forgot how to make eye contact after playing Daredevil. This "method acting" approach became so ingrained that it reportedly cost him other roles. Cox auditioned for the role of a young Han Solo (for Solo: A Star Wars Story). Halfway through, the casting director stopped him to ask why he wasn't looking at them. He spent weeks working with Joe Strechay, a blindness consultant, at the New York State Commission for the Blind to learn how to navigate with a cane and orient himself without looking. He practiced keeping his eyes unfocused and deliberately avoided the natural instinct to look at people when they spoke. During filming, he occasionally wore opaque contact lenses that made him temporarily blind so he wouldn't instinctively track movement with his eyes. LHP Zach Root (Arkansas Baseball) is one of the best college lefthanders in this year's Draft class. After splitting time between the bullpen and rotation as a Freshman, Root last year was a full time starter and pitched his way to a 3.56 ERA with 76 Ks to 21 BB across 68.1 IP. Slightly undersized at 6'1" and 186-pounds, but there's present strength and physicality in his lower-half. Natural funk and deception in his delivery that includes a high leg lift and some tilt in his upper-half. Average arm stroke with a slight wrist coil, attacks from a mid-three quarter (maybe a tick lower) slot with a bit of cross fire. Root's FB will sit in the 91-94 range, but it was up to 97. Will flash arm side life through the zone and is best when located on either third (arm or glove side) of the plate or in the top-half. Not a real bat-misser right now, so refining its shape should be a point of focus both this spring and beyond. Bread and butter offerings are his secondaries. Root's low-80s CH gets averaged almost 10 MPH of separation off his heater and it's a pitch he throws with conviction. Consistently flashes fade to the arm side as well as late diving life. Generated a 46% miss rate last spring, would stick a plus grade on it. High-70s-to-low-80s CB flashes big-time depth with some sharpness. 11-to-5 shape against RHH, but will be longer than it is deep against LHH. Has a decent feel for the pitch, and last season it held opposing hitters to a minuscule .048 average while generating a 48% miss rate. Rounds out his arsenal with a mid-to-upper-80s CUT/SL that against LHH will flash sweeping life with some late bite. Potentially average offering. Today's #SaturdaySleeper is RHP Derek Vartanian (Campbell Baseball). He comes to Campbell by way of Gaston College, where last season he pitched his way to a 3.08 ERA with an impressive strikeout-to-walk ratio of 76-to-9 across 76 IP. Slender build at 6'4", 200-lbs. Short, quick arm stroke and attacks from a high-three quarter slot. Vartanian's FB will sit in the 93-96 range, but this fall he topped out at 98. Features big time carry through the zone with upwards of 24" of IVB. There is still likely more in the tank, especially with better use of his lower-half. Vartanian features two distinct breaking balls with a SL and CB. High-80s gyro SL is still developing, but at times flashes effective late, lateral movement. Low-80s CB boasts big time depth with some teeth and almost true 12-6 break. His best secondary pitch is his Splitter. It plays really well off his FB as it sits 80-82, and features big time fade to the arm side with some tumble. Vartanian does an excellent job of killing spin, and the spin rate on his changeup will get as low as 800 rpm. Vartanian this spring will anchor Campbell's rotation and be the cornerstone of the Camels pitching staff. An advanced strike thrower whose stuff will only tick up, Vartanian profiles as a starter professionally and a potential Top 5 round pick this July.

LHP Andrew Healy (Duke Baseball) is one of my favorite Sophomore-eligible arms in this year's Draft. Enjoyed an outstanding true Freshman campaign in '23, pitching his way to a 2.32 ERA with 45 K to just 7 BB across 42.2 IP. Great body at 6'6" and 200-lbs. High-waisted with room to fill out. Smooth, aesthetically pleasing operation on the mound. Clean arm stroke and hides the ball well. Attacks from mid-three quarter slot. Pretty low effort delivery. Healy's FB will mostly sit in the 90-93 range, but he has been up to 94/95. It gets on hitters quick and plays particularly well on his arm side/elevated. Little bit of carry to it. Healy has plus command and control of it. His go-to secondary offering is a high-70s CH that on average is 10+ MPH off his FB. Healy maintains his arm speed well and it features serious late tumbling life. Had a 40% miss rate in '23. Would put a 55 on it. Healy features two distinct breaking balls in a high-70s SL and mid-70s CB. SL has long, sweeping action and is particularly deadly against LHH. After throwing it just 5% of the time in '23, Healy this fall has upped his CB usage. It's an okay 4th pitch and at times will flash some depth. Perhaps most interesting about Healy's profile is his ability to generate swings. Last year he posted a 48% overall swing rate and an impressive 70% in-zone swing rate. This will be a long read, but I truly hope it inspires someone. I only wish I had kept more memories honestly… Today marks one year since I moved into my own home after squatting with a family friend for two years. That period remains one of the greatest favors I have ever received in my life. They didn’t take me in as a stranger they welcomed me as a daughter, treated me as one, and even now, here in Abuja, they are my family. Today, I live in a solid two-bedroom flat in Abuja, fully furnished to my taste. I’m living a life I once only prayed for, eating well, living well all courtesy of design and Web3. This same skill once earned me ₦2,000… ₦5,000. I can never forget messaging almost every contact on my WhatsApp, begging them to let me design for free. I went from business to business around my school area, offering free designs. I even designed my school handbook for free just to put myself out there. With this same skill, I met people I once admired from afar. I was willing to design for free just to earn a tag, a shout-out, and the visibility I desperately needed. There were times I slept in school just to use the school Wi-Fi to watch YouTube tutorials, especially from Mez Graphics. Sleeping in school became a lifestyle and it came at a cost. My health suffered deeply. I went through serious health crises because I couldn’t afford medication. Home was tough. Really tough. While others slept like humans, for four years in school I averaged two hours of sleep daily, juggling academics and survival. My health paid the price. I developed growths in both eyes that now require surgery, and my eyesight deteriorated so badly that I can’t function without my glasses. Yet today, this same skill has elevated my family. From living in a single room with five kids in a rented apartment, to my mum bring a landlord. A woman who used to fall sick frequently now lives healthier, eats whatever she wants, and glows differently. Poverty truly stinks but grace changed our story. The store she owns today? Courtesy of this skill and Web3. Every property I own my store, my home, everything came through design and Web3. This same skill funds my lifestyle. This same skill, backed by God, has elevated me beyond words. I could go on and on… This is me telling someone inspiring someone not to give up on that skill you have, no matter what it is, especially as a creative. I slept on YouTube for years because I couldn’t afford to pay for a single course. I used that knowledge to design for free sometimes for one, two, even three years just to build visibility. Today, I invest as much as ₦2 million yearly into learning., i invest heavily ngl If all you can afford right now is YouTube, be diligent with it. Mez Graphics and Caesar played huge roles in my journey, and I truly hope they see this. I am 100% grateful to them. In a nutshell: don’t give up on your skill. Keep refining it. Keep studying. With this same skill, I met people I once admired from afar. I was willing to design for free just to earn a tag, a shout-out, and the visibility I desperately needed. There were times I slept in school just to use the school Wi-Fi to watch YouTube tutorials, especially from Mez Graphics. Sleeping in school became a lifestyle and it came at a cost. My health suffered deeply. I went through serious health crises because I couldn’t afford medication. Home was tough. Really tough. While others slept like humans, for four years in school I averaged two hours of sleep daily, juggling academics and survival. My health paid the price. I developed growths in both eyes that now require surgery, and my eyesight deteriorated so badly that I can’t function without my glasses. Yet today, this same skill has elevated my family. From living in a single room with five kids in a rented apartment, to my mum bring a landlord. A woman who used to fall sick frequently now lives healthier, eats whatever she wants, and glows differently. Poverty truly stinks but grace changed our story. The store she owns today? Courtesy of this skill and Web3. Every property I own my store, my home, everything came through design and Web3. This same skill funds my lifestyle. This same skill, backed by God, has elevated me beyond words. I could go on and on… This is me telling someone inspiring someone not to give up on that skill you have, no matter what it is, especially as a creative. I slept on YouTube for years because I couldn’t afford to pay for a single course. I used that knowledge to design for free sometimes for one, two, even three years just to build visibility. Today, I invest as much as ₦2 million yearly into learning., i invest heavily ngl If all you can afford right now is YouTube, be diligent with it. Mez Graphics and Caesar played huge roles in my journey, and I truly hope they see this. I am 100% grateful to them. In a nutshell: don’t give up on your skill. Keep refining it. Keep studying. RHP Cole Leaman (Lehigh Baseball) is an arm I'm really looking forward to following this spring. Fresh off a strong Sophomore season in which he worked a 2.31 ERA with 49 Ks to 23 BB across 46.2 IP. Showed some positive flashes on the Cape. While slightly undersized, Leaman has a strong and athletic build at 6' and 190-lbs. Has put on a lot of good weight over the last couple of years. Leaman has almost a "check point" delivery in which he takes a noticeable side step towards the 1B side, gathers himself and breaks into the rest of his motion. Lengthy arm stroke and attacks from a high-3/4 slot from a low release height. Leaman is a high-level athlete and a dynamic mover on the mound. Sits really well on his back glute and his lead leg block enables him to generate power and drive his back side through. Drop and drive delivery. Little bit of effort, but plenty of arm speed. Leaman's FB sits in the 91-94 range, but it was up to 96 this summer and 98 this fall. Jumps out of his hand from a ~5'3" release height and flashes riding life through the zone. Averaged 15" of carry this summer and 2,361 RPMs. Gets over the barrels of opposing hitters when located in the top-1/2 of the zone, which is where the pitch is at its best. Command can be erratic at times. Would give it a 55. Leaman's most-used off speed pitch is a high-70s-to-low-80s CB. Shape is inconsistent and it can get a little slurvy at times, but he snapped off a handful of really good ones between the spring and summer. When it's at its best, it will flash a bigger shape with sharp, downward tilt. Leaman will also mix in a low-to-mid-80s SL that's distinct in shape. Another pitch he's still gaining a feel for, but like his CB it's also shown big time flashes. Shape of it will vary, but it will sometimes flash plus with sharp, two-plane break (more sweep than depth) and essentially take a late, hard left turn. Rounds out his arsenal with a high-80s cutter and a mid-to-high-80s CH. The former is more intriguing than the latter. Curious to see how much he uses the cutter this spring, threw a couple this summer that had late glove-side life. Leaman has a very intriguing blend of athleticism and stuff, though he'll need to iron out his command and control in order to maximize his upside. ChangXin Memory Technologies lists on Shanghai's STAR Market on July 27 at 8.66 yuan a share. About $1.28. They're raising $8.5 billion, close to $9.8 billion if the overallotment gets exercised. That values the company around $85 billion. Largest Chinese semiconductor IPO on record. Biggest chip listing in Asia this year. The demand numbers are wild. More than 9.4 million retail accounts applied. The online tranche was oversubscribed about 244 times. Institutions came in at roughly 570 times. And on Hyperliquid the pre-IPO perp has been trading near $7. Five to six times the issue price. That's people who can't buy A-shares paying whatever it takes for exposure. Now here's why this actually matters. Samsung, SK Hynix and Micron control almost 90% of global DRAM revenue. Samsung 38%, SK Hynix 29%, Micron 22%. For two years they've been starving the market of regular DDR5 while chasing AI memory. That's a big part of why memory prices went through the roof. CXMT is already the fourth largest DRAM maker on earth by capacity. By year end they're on pace to nearly match Micron's wafer output. Every dollar from this IPO goes into more fabs, better DDR5 and LPDDR5X yields, early HBM3 work, and the next process node. Bharat owes them this much PM Narendra Modi ji 🙏 Walk into any small town. Sit at any bus stand. Visit any village in Assam, in UP, in Tamil Nadu, in Maharashtra. You will find them. The 82 year old who served the post office for 30 years on daily wages and retired with nothing. The 85 year old grandmother whose husband was a farmer, who raised five children, fed a generation, and now stretches a single roti across the day. The 88 year old freedom fighter’s son living on the kindness of a neighbour. These are not strangers. These are Bharat Mata’s oldest children. According to the UNFPA India Ageing Report 2023, there are 149 million persons aged 60 years and above in India as of 2022, comprising around 10.5 percent of the country’s population.  Within this, the population aged 80 plus is estimated at roughly 1.4 crore (14 million) people, and the population growth of older persons aged 80 plus has been at 128 per cent during 2000 to 2022 . That number is rising every single day. Now ask one simple question. Why can a country that runs the world’s largest free ration scheme, that builds 4 crore pucca houses, that sends rockets to the Moon, not give every Indian above 80 years who has zero pension support a “Respect Pension” of ₹5,000 a month? Just dignity. Just the right to buy his own medicines. Just the right to not stretch out a trembling hand at his own son’s door. Look at the calculation. Assume 1.4 crore Indians are above 80. Assume roughly half already receive some pension through government service, EPFO, NPS, IGNOAPS or state schemes. That leaves about 70 lakh elders with nothing. 70,00,000 × ₹5,000 × 12 = ₹42,000 crore per year. Forty two thousand crore. In a Union Budget of nearly ₹48 lakh crore, that is less than 1 per cent. Less than what we sometimes write off in a single round of corporate loan settlements. Less than the cost of a few mega projects. For less than 1 per cent of the Budget, Bharat can ensure that not a single citizen above 80 has to beg for tea money in his own home. Call it Rashtriya Samman Pension. Call it Vridha Samman Yojana. Call it whatever the policy desk wants. Make Aadhaar the verification. Make DBT the delivery. Make the cut off clean and simple. Anyone above 80, no government or PSU pension, no NPS, no EPFO, automatic eligibility. And for those who do not need it, a simple voluntary opt out form. Many will refuse out of pride. Let them. Just a typical day in the 3D studio with my little assistant… seems like she’s still figuring things out… 🔌💥 Since it’s the New Year, I figured it’s time for a proper re-introduction! ✨ • I’m chacha! A Virtual Guitarist 🎸 • I work as a technician in a chemistry lab irl🧪 • I only have 2-3 hours after work for guitar and 3D⌚ • I use VR trackers for mocap💃 • I’ve been playing guitar for years, but I’m entirely self-taught for fun, so my playing isn’t that great 😅 • Before I decided to do guitar mocap, I didn’t even know what Unity was (maybe I’m actually a genius!? 🧠✨) • I live for compliments! 🥺💖 No guitar mocap video this week, but I’m making steady progress behind the scenes: ✅Carefully fine-tuned the avatar’s shaders for better lighting and shadows ✅Got a new outfit and remade all the cloth physics from scratch ✅Wrote a script for smoother movement ✅Completely rearranged the music gear in the studio ✅Finally using the new guitar Midori made for me! 🎸 ✅Re-edited and remixed one of my older tracks, so a "Remastered" version is coming soon! 🎧 ✅Also recorded a brand-new song, so stay tuned!! 🤘

home page hero ✨ Design notes: - "Forever" hero text dot pixel FX done in Unicorn Studio. (I will do a whole tutorial on this later. Unicorn's WebGL engine is absolutely wild and very powerful / robust) - built in Framer - I wanted to recreate the iOS unlock effect where your home screen icons cascade into place in a beautifully timed choreography. This took a lot of careful timing using Framer's "Appear" effect on the hero text and surrounding avatars because it was super important that we didn't lose the legibility of our main message ("Build Your Forever Audience") with all the animations. - If you look closely, the choreography is setup to lead your eye through the hero text first starting with "Build Your" then "Forever" and finally "Audience." - With those text layers in place + the surrounding avatars, there is a slight 1 sec pause before the remaining elements slide in below and above (How it works, CTA buttons, announcement badge, and lastly the main nav). - All told the entire loading sequence is 6 seconds - Custom particle system powers the interactive star field (the stars slowly gravitate to your pointer position, and the star field perspective changes ever so subtly as you move your mouse around on the page) - I have 3 shooting stars made of small white line layers that start out off canvas rotated at different angles that shoot across to another point off canvas at random times on a loop effect. - Given this hero scene is in space, I wanted the surrounding avatar elements to "float" in low gravity mode. For this I used Framer's loop effect that slowly oscillates the layer's y position. I then offset the delay of each element randomly to stagger the floating loop so each avatar floats independently/randomly - The final major treatment for this hero scene was the scroll animations on the avatars. I wanted to create a bit of a warp speed effect when you scroll down, as if the avatars were being pulled or sucked into a worm hole as you scroll down below this hero fold. - To accomplish this, I applied Framer's scroll transform affect set to "section in view" on each of the floating avatars, and set the "scroll to" position of the upper avatars to be much, much further away on the y-axis than the "scroll to" position of the lower avatars. (eg. -1700px on upper most avatars vs. -600px on lowest positioned avatars). This effectively causes the upper avatars to slide up off the hero canvas with much greater velocity than the lower positioned avatars. - And when you scroll back up to the hero section, the inverse happens where the lower positioned avatars "arrive back in place" from up above the hero canvas before the upper avatars come back into the scene and settle in place. - Overall I wanted this hero section to feel alive. The floating avatars, particle system with very subtle star movements, and the Caustics effect on the "Forever" text all sort of move at the pace of slow breathing - which is a great pace to create a sense of life and comfort in your scene. Conversion Results (so far) - When this new Framer site launched along with Calaxy v1.9 release on Base a couple weeks ago, we saw a surge in traffic, around 20k page views in the first few days. - Of those 20k hits, 11k visited the app install page ( - which is our main CTA - We saw around 10K new users in the first week after v1.9 launch Overall I'm very happy with the new site and early performance metrics.
