How are you applying color to the greyscale?

The colour layer works well but i use overlay layer because it is closer to what i need in brighter tones

do you use overlay with yellow ish colour to unify the whole composition or it is other stuff?

The yellow thing at 0:35 is a lighten layer, the stuff before that was color balance
