When I was in high school, I didn't know where any of my teachers stood politically. In the classroom, they kept their politics to themselves. As they should. Today's teachers need to restore that practice. Make teaching respectable again.

I distributed 50 school supply kits to students at Al-Khayam School in Gaza, out of 120 students. Seventy children are still waiting for their turn waiting for nothing more than a pen and a notebook, just to feel that they are still students, and that their dreams still exist. I would be truly happy if we could complete the distribution to the remaining children those who have lost everything in their lives: their homes, their sense of safety, their childhood, and have nothing left but clinging to education as their last hope. Talking about the students, the teachers said that 70% of the students live alone because their parents are working in factories in Tamil Nadu. These students cook for themselves, take care of their cattle, and then go to school. Just to earn ₹20,000 a month, their parents have to leave their children at home and work in factories thousands of kilometres away. The teachers have to take care of these children whenever they are in need. If a child doesn't come to school for two consecutive days, the teachers visit their home to find out whether they are safe and well. And what is a teacher's salary? Even after having 20 years of experience, they earn just ₹20,000 a month, and even that salary is often delayed by the government. No matter how much noise we make about becoming a $5 trillion economy, the fact remains that millions of people are still struggling today to earn a mere ₹10,000–₹20,000 a month.

Many teachers who were assigned to this village declined their postings due to the lack of electricity, access to portable water, and transportation options in the village(no car comes to the village).
