@wesyang I might get hell for saying this but even for those who are hell-bent on transitioning—you don’t need to get bottom surgery to pass. The whole point is to be perceived a certain way yeah? These surgeries never look authentic and they’re bad for you.

@ConceptualJames Honestly, I don't think kids OR parents are made aware or even give, INFORMED consent to the mutilation. How many years did we fight to STOP female genital mutilation being performed on girls, by, or at the behest of, families who immigrated to the States? 5 giant steps backwards

It shouldn't be called "sex-reassignment surgery" or deceptively oversimplified as "bottom surgery". You wouldn't reduce something as equally invasive as hysterectomies, kidney transplants and intestinal reconstructions etc. as "bottom surgery."

It is the darkest irony of our time that to be a good person—or a good, progressive nation—you must support and celebrate modern medicine’s most atrocious crime. The international response to dealing with this scandal right now is chaotic, but the solution is actually very simple: Restore reality. Defend the right of children to a childhood grounded in truth and the right of all young people to grow up healthy and whole. Stop bombarding young people with an incoherent, anti-reality political ideology, and start protecting them from it instead. Reject prioritizing the desires of extremist activists over the safeguarding of children. And face the reality that trans kids do not exist. What does exist are children and adolescents trying to make sense of themselves in a world that has abandoned reason in favour of ideology—young people being lied to at a crucial stage of identity development, who face consequences that will haunt them for a lifetime. My talk at the EU Parliament last month.

I’m questioning why the rules only seem to apply to some people. Medical truth shouldn’t depend on your status, your politics, or your platform. Just interesting timing, and interesting standards.
