A year and a day ago, I lost a very special friend. What started through Make-A-Wish became a friendship I’ll always treasure. Daily, I would get a video or text from her and her friends…She brought so much joy into my life, and I miss hearing from her. I have yet to break the habit of waiting for a video from her. They truly made me smile. When I learned she wasn’t doing well, I got on a plane to Minnesota to be with her. She passed while I was in the air. Her family showed me a kindness I’ll never forget by letting me say goodbye. They also gave me her favorite blanket and the journal she kept about our time together. I still haven’t been able to read it. One day, I will. There isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t think about her. She reminded everyone around her how much light one person can bring into their day and their lives, no matter how short their time here. Missing you always. ❤️

I think this Japanese ARMY is just so adorable. At first, I thought she was Korean because her Korean is so fluent. Football is such a brutal sport, things can change in a second. Arthur Okonkwo arrived on loan from Arsenal in 2023, he helped Wrexham secure promotion from League Two to League One. You can hear the fans singing for him to “Sign the contract”. This was at the end of the season in June 2024. Well, he eventually signed a 3-year contract and stayed with them. He helped them secure promotion again from League One to Championship. Wrexham signed Ward to replace him in the Championship, because Ward was more experienced…Unfortunately, Ward got injured as the season started. Okonkwo then helped them so much in the league that they almost got promoted to the premier league. Guess what? Ward came back from injury in the last 4 games of last season, the coach, Phil Parkinson benched Okonkwo. I can even say that’s why they didn’t promote, because he started to change the squad that was already doing well and sitting in a good spot for play offs. Wrexham has now signed Patterson from Sunderland. He was on loan at Millwall last season but those ones didn’t keep him. Okonkwo has now moved to 3rd choice. This is the reason he’s now being loaned to Charlton. If he does well, and Charlton does well, I’m sure he’ll get a good move because he is a good goalkeeper and he’s still 24. On all four occasions that Our Fight campaigners have protested outside Hackney Town Hall in the last two and a half years, someone in our group has been attacked. And last night—outside the vote to de-twin Hackney from Haifa—was no exception. A woman with her face covered decided to throw eggs at a number of people who had joined us either to show support for Israel or to film—"because they are Zionists". But her definition of "Zionist" is anyone who refuses to share her irrational hatred for anything that has a connection to Israel. In this video the woman picks her first target, YouTuber CP Reports. She went on to attack others before being arrested. Being 'egged' may not sound much, but this is just the latest in a list that includes being spat on, kicked, punched—including having noses broken—getting food thrown at us, rubbed in our faces, and smeared over banners. The 'progressives', the Islamoleft, the Greens, Antifa—they have all whipped themselves into such a frenzy of irrational hatred against Israel that they now believe anything goes. They feel justified in using this kind of behaviour to try to exclude from the public square anyone who does not join in their hatred of Israel. We knew this is what Hackney would be like but we went anyway. We went because if we didn't, the new Brownshirts would have succeeded in driving us out of the public sphere. CP Reports

My surgery went well yesterday - thank you everyone for all the kind words and prayers. I know this corner of ours means it when they say it. Lotta pain, but that's to be expected. Now lemme put a smile on your face: We've done this so many times with old shelter dogs, and the pattern is almost always the same - when they get here, they're usually nervous and quiet; unsure of what is in store and what their life is gonna be like. After being here with me, OBX Dog Walker and the rest of the dogs, they start to relax and be the dog they wanna be; the dog they were or could have been before they were abandoned. Molly was so quiet and reserved when we got her, and now? Yeah. She's right at home, letting me know I need to get off my ass and feed her. Love to see it. And I'm grateful to all of you.

So what do y’all think is worse? People on Twitter expressing their negative opinions about how a fundraiser for someone we all care about went? Or the host of the fundraiser shitting on those people *during the actual fundraiser*? Also, I am going to clear up James’ disinformation - literally nobody in the chat was being negative towards Karen. In fact, 90% of the negativity in the chat was directed at James. James was receiving so much negativity because of his own disrespectful and foolish behavior (watch the 2nd video to see just some examples of why I say that). On top of the comments he was making he was also moving around doing random shit constantly. Check out the 3rd video to watch James wiggle around like a bored preschooler whose breakfast cereal had way too much sugar in it for 2.5mins all while the amazing and highly respected attorney, Carl Steinbeck, was speaking. Compare his behavior to the rest of the panelists. Oh! And check out the last video to see Mike throw shade at Runkle in a feeble attempt to soothe his own fragile and wounded ego. So no - we are not the assholes in this situation. And we are not being negative about last night’s fundraiser just because we dislike some of the creators involved. If that was our motivation we would have had the same reaction to the previous fundraiser that those same people did but we didn’t. Nobody was being harsh about that fundraiser because it was ran well and respectful - last night’s fundraiser was not. My only hope is that last night was the wake up call that some people needed to realize just how bad it’s gotten and that it’s time to put on their big girl/boy panties and straighten this shit out so Karen can make sure that when all is said and done even Gary Busey is looking at people like Proctor and Bukhenik with pity.

I still can’t believe it… I just had my first Hi-Bye with them. 💗😇 You have no idea how beautiful these two are. The moment they recognized me, my whole heart just melted. And the way #Ormkornnaphat said “hi”… you could feel it came straight from her heart. In that moment, I realized how much I treasure this experience and how truly happy I am. 💗 For a moment, I even forgot the pain from my ankle surgery that’s how powerful this feeling was, how healing their presence can be. You can’t imagine I’ve worked with so many celebrities in my career, but feeling like a fan… this is rare. Something magical. Something beautiful. And I’m grateful to be a part of this journey. A speculum is a medical instrument, designed to gently part the vaginal walls so a clinician can see the cervix. Nothing more. There is no pleasure involved. No intimacy. No competition. The fact that you feel 'threatened' by stainless steel or plastic tells me this is not about medicine, it is about insecurity, and it is misplaced. Now let us talk facts, since feelings are clearly louder than science here. Cervical cancer is caused almost entirely by Human Papillomavirus (HPV). HPV is a sexually transmitted virus, and most sexually active people, men included, will acquire it at some point. Women are screened because persistent HPV can cause cervical cancer. This is gonna be so long omg but when it comes to translating in Korean, it’s very very important to take in consideration of 1) Culture 2) Seniority, the Closeness & Intimacy of the people involved in a conversation. Because this gives an entire different vibe for the context. And we have to keep in mind that there are Korean phrases and expressions that simply don’t have just One way, exact words that can be translated in English. Translators can find ways to convey the meaning, but it requires more explanation and understanding of the context while conveying it, and not relying on assumptions. How about “인상 덜 쓰기” or “인상 쓰다“ then? Here, a direct translation can simply be 인상 덜 쓰기 - be less grumpy/ frown less, etc 인상 쓰다 - being grumpy, frown, make a face, etc Here, I include an educational video of an English speaker talking with a Korean speaker where they’re discussing a similar expression, “인상 좀 쓰지마!“ (which in word by word in English, it sounds something like “Don’t frown/ Don’t make a face”) Now, as an English speaker, that sounds a bit harsh doesn’t it? That’s because such expression doesn’t exist in just One interpretation in English, so if we only read it as it is, without considering the context and the speakers’ closeness, we’re bound to misunderstand the context. Quoting some parts of this video, 💚: “Now, Tyler’s expression for today is ‘인상 좀 쓰지마!’. Have you ever heard of this expression? 🩶: I’ve heard something like that before 💚: Then doesn’t this mean there’s a same expression in English too right? 🩶: Oh! I’ve only heard it in Korea 💚: Ah really? The guy then explained that if you say something like this in english, it can be rude. so it’s better not to say it in English-speaking countries. He gave examples like “If you do that, you’ll get wrinkles”, and the other guy added something like “If you make an ugly face, you’ll have wrinkles” and said that “If someone (an English speaker) hears this they would think I must be crazy” Here, they’re talking about the cultural differences. A phrase like this, when expressed directly, without considering people’s closeness, and being translated exactly like that, would sound so negative to English speakers. *also notice how this phrase is being worded in various ways??? ‘HOW’ it can sound to someone, really depends on their culture, their closeness with the person, and context* So later on, he gave a few more examples like, “stop making such a long face”, and “stop wrinkling your forehead”. And concluded that: 💚: Well in that case, the phrase “인상 좀 쓰지마” is basically a phrase that doesn’t exist in English. 🩶: It’s an expression that we don’t use. It’s not that it doesn’t exist. (This part, he’s explaining that there’s no such a thing as word by word to explain this phrase in English, bcs we English speakers use different wordings that is more suitable for a situation’s nuances.) Then again, we have to consider speakers’ closeness as well because in Korea, it’s a huge thing. If you don’t understand how this works, you won’t understand the nuances of a conversation. You’re bound to misunderstand. If you refuse to understand it then, I don’t think you want to respect their culture. Because again, this is a huge thing.
