President Trump’s plan would slash Medicaid and SNAP, jeopardizing health care access for 196,000 Marylanders and threatening food assistance for more than 684,000 Marylanders. It would make energy bills more expensive, raise health care costs, and directly hurt Maryland families, from the western mountains to the Eastern Shore and everywhere in between. No state in the country could overcome the consequences if it were to become law.

Good morning to everyone in Massachusetts who know why we have sky-high costs. Massachusetts is now one of the most expensive states in the country to live in. Housing is out of reach, energy bills keep climbing, groceries cost more every month, and taxes never seem to go down. This didn’t happen by accident. It’s the result of decades of one-party Democrat control on Beacon Hill. Look around the country. The highest cost-of-living states are almost all Democrat-run. Meanwhile, many of the most affordable states are run by Republicans. That’s not coincidence. It’s policy. Democrats love to talk about affordability, but their policies make nothing more affordable. More regulation, higher taxes, higher energy costs, and endless spending drive businesses and families out of Massachusetts every year. Even wages tell the story. Working people felt relief when Republicans pushed for economic growth and fiscal restraint. When Democrats regain full control, spending explodes and real wages fall behind the cost of living. There is a clear pattern. One-party rule makes Massachusetts more expensive and less livable. Burgum blames high national gas price average on renewable energy: I have to smile every time I see on a screen the national average for gasoline. The price of gasoline varies across our whole country largely right now by state policy and state taxes, not by the underlying fundamentals. About half the states that went down this path where they overrotated towards we're going to have energy transition. We're going to move from affordable, reliable secure American energy and we're going to rely on intermittent, highly subsidized, weather-dependent sources of energy, they've got substantially higher energy prices than the states that don't. California was dependent on oil coming from the strait of hormuz. They are going to have high gas prices. You can thank Gavin Newsom for that and their state legislature for the policies they put in. That has nothing to do with the strait of hormuz.

Development charges increase the cost of homes for everyone. They are a housing tax. During a housing crisis, we don’t think you should raise taxes on housing. That’s why provinces and cities must freeze the fees in order to get federal infrastructure funding. Conservatives have no plan to address these taxes. Here canvassing in Ellicott City, Maryland, and the things I’m hearing are breaking my heart. 5th-generation Marylanders are thinking about moving to North Carolina because they can no longer endure Gov. Moore’s tax and spend policies and failure to lower costs. This isn’t one isolated conversation. Maryland continues to rank near the bottom nationally for net domestic out-migration. Marylanders are moving because of the following: • Climbing property tax bills • Crushing utility rates • Relentless MVA fee hikes • Year after year of budget shortfalls • Stagnant economic opportunity Gov. Moore and Annapolis Democrats do not care about lowering costs. They only care about acquiring political power at the expense of Marylanders. Every day I’m fighting so hard for you. A major gas field in the UK could supply over 10% of the UK's energy, but that gas isn't destined for the grid. The plan instead is to extract it on site, burn it in a local power plant, and use that electricity to mine bitcoin. The energy will be consumed at the source, because that route is simpler and more profitable. Taxes, regulation and grid constraints all add friction. The gas could power homes. It isn't. Because burning it on site makes more money. That is a damning indictment of UK energy policy.
