It may be an option for patients who do not respond to drug treatments or cannot tolerate the side effects of drug treatment. It seems quite risky

Helium treatment is not a recognized or recommended treatment for headaches. In fact, inhaling helium can be dangerous and even deadly due to oxygen deprivation. While oxygen therapy is a recognized treatment for certain headache types like cluster headaches, helium is not a component of that therapy. I’ve actually had a severe sinus headache relieved by a big change in altitude. Went from 5000 ft to 12,000 feet. Something popped in my sinuses, then instant relief. Followed by sinus discharge. Hyperbaric treatment is probably more effective than a balloon
