I am looking to re-home one of our retired racehorses - Albert Lasker. We had to retire Albert in the summer following a tendon injury during racing. After 3 months rehab and box rest he has resumed walking and is building up to being turned out. He will not have any more of an athletic career (racing / being ridden out) but he has a lovely nature and would make a great companion horse for someone. If you would be interested then please let me know. Very important to us that he goes to a good home 🏡

'Clonskeagh Chaos' as new footage contradicts Gardai involvement and questions over terrorist links. More questions than answers, is the general feeling across the country today, as footage circulates online 'allegedly', of the incident that caused the closure of Ireland's largest mosque, last Saturday. The footage clearly shows members of the Irish police force, An Garda Síochána, trying to restore order, which they had previously denied any involvement in. The Islamic cultural center of Ireland (ICCI) released a notice that it would remain closed until a full investigation into the incident was complete and security protocols were implemented. The notice was also placed on the locked gates describing it as an "unprecedented attack on our mosque, center and members of the board" This center, along with many others across the country, has been subject to heavy surveillance by government agencies along with the involvement of the US state department and counter terrorism unit (NCTC) for its close ties to the Muslim brotherhood and alleged links to 'Islamic extremism'. These latest developments, along with a clear lack of accountability and transparency from government officials, are creating very uncertain times for people right across the island of Ireland.

Rents are so high that buyers can expect a gross rental yield of around €30,000 per year. Tax will take a big chunk, but the money to be made is still astronomical. If you were an overseas buyer with a few hundred grand, you would be crazy not to invest in our property market. And you can - with no restrictions. That's the problem. The market is over-heating and Irish buyers are priced out. We need an immediate ban on investment funds buying property and a requirement that any non-Irish buyer needs to have lived in Ireland for last ten years before they can buy. Ireland's housing system is in a state of disrepair, primarily due to ineffective Government policies. My graphic illustrates the large number of vacant and derelict properties in Dublin City. It also shows the 4,666 entire houses or apartments currently listed for short-term letting on the Airbnb platform, with a total of 18,649 across Ireland. According to the Department of Housing, 9,671 adults and a record 4,170 children found themselves in emergency accommodation last month. The Government failed to meet its social and affordable housing targets by 2,680 homes last year and significantly underestimated the number of houses needed to be built annually by 17,000. It's widely accepted that Ireland requires up to 50,000 additional houses each year; however, the government's "Housing for All" plan only aims to build an average of 33,000. The 2022 Census shows that the country has 166,752 vacant homes and 66,135 empty holiday homes. Interestingly, nearly a third of these vacant homes (48,387) have been unoccupied long-term since 2016. Predictably, rent has doubled over the past 13 years and house prices have surged by 55%, marking the fastest growth in any major EU economy. Currently, Vulture funds own 1 in 6 mortgages in the Irish housing market, while Cuckoo funds and the State purchase 42% of new homes. This situation has led to a record number of first-time buyers competing for the smallest supply of housing stock in over a decade. Nationally, just over 11,000 homes are available for purchase, a stark contrast to 2012 when 60,000 homes were on the market. To add to the crisis, the income needed to buy a new home in Dublin is €127,000, which surpasses even a TD's basic salary of €108,987. On May 20, 2021, the Irish Government introduced a 10% stamp duty on bulk purchases of residential houses. This measure aimed to discourage large-scale acquisitions by investors and vulture funds. However, the policy has two notable exemptions: bulk buying of apartments in multi-storey buildings with grouped access, and purchases by local authorities and approved housing bodies.
