The joke isn’t offensive; it’s just not a funny joke. Maybe bc the joke makes us focus on winter; then we have to shift our focus to summer. And then it compares slavery, which happened in winter too. So by the logic of the joke, we would dominate winter sports also

That joke died on its ass as you re-told it. It had a bit of shock value, but you killed that with the qualification about meh slavery being horrible. It ended up sounding like you were just making a crap defence of racism in comedy.
