I was in a bar in town watching this with a mate. He ordered celebratory shots just before this corner came in. I still blame him to this day.

Remember watching that in the Leopardstown Inn. Those were the days when it was a national scandal when we didn't qualify.

Our away form was terrible in this qualifying campaign. Our only away win was a scrappy 3-2 victory away against Malta. We won all of our home games!

A disaster that was especially as we would have won the group 🙄

An awful goal to concede. We had done so well in the group. The 'I had a Macedonia' really came back to bite them.

In fairness Quinn's goal was jammy they should have cleared that ,we never made things easy we always struggled to get results even against the so called minnows.

I remember watching it while on crutches. I threw the crutch away and had to crawl to retrieve it. It was one of the lowest points of that era.
