This has broken me tonight!😢 What an amazing service, you’ve no idea what it means to know your cat is safe when you’re in that situation unless you’ve been there. Thank you!

Hidden Treasures Sanctuary is Northern California’s first free-roaming cat sanctuary, rescue, and feline surgery center, providing low-cost spay and neuter services. Many cats call this beautiful sanctuary home, where they can live freely and be cared for with love. The people behind it are Christians whose faith, compassion, and devotion to animals represent the kind of American values I deeply admire. This is truly a wonderful place for cats. 🧡🐈🇺🇸✝️

Out of the Frying Pan, into the Fire A hapless pigeon looking for shelter from the rain meets a farm cat named Banana. Farm cats are used specifically for pest control, so while the following does apply to them, the concentration of domestic cats in cities is a much more destructive issue. It is estimated that domestic cats kill 1.3 billion prey animals every year, which is a modest estimate and a major problem for the natural balance of the ecosystem. Domestic cats are not native to North America (they are native to modern day Iraq Cyprus, and Syria) and are one of, if not the most damaging of any predatory invasive species on the continent. Most will have the benefit of an owner and protected shelter, so they are able to temporarily remove themselves from the food chain while they sleep - which is a huge advantage over everything else in that system. They are also most likely fed at home, so when they attack something it's usually out of instinct and not hunger - which helps along their "kill for fun" reputation.

Rainbow dyed cats seem to be trending among some people right now. What do you think about this? Even if the dye is safe, I’m against it. Cats are already beautiful as they are, and they shouldn’t be used for human social media content.

Cats are fast! This was an easy meal for this amazing feline. The rattle snake rattles and coils which is a give away to its attack plan. In the game of cat vs snake, a cat usually wins.

Your cat is probably too cold in your home, and you don’t realize it. I wish more people understood a cat’s thermoneutral zone. For most cats, it’s 86 to 100°F, meaning this is the temperature range where they can maintain normal core body temperature without burning extra energy to warm up or cool down. Most homes sit around 68 to 72°F, which can feel fine to humans, but it can create chronic low-grade cold stress for cats. That’s why you see cats curled into tight balls, glued to heating vents, burrowed under blankets, or parked on your lap. They are not being dramatic. They are trying to reach a comfortable temperature. Cold stress matters even more for kittens, seniors, thin cats, and cats with kidney disease, arthritis, or hyperthyroidism. Warm resting spots and heated beds can be genuinely therapeutic and an efficient way to support your cat’s comfort. Save this, share it with every cat person you know, and if you want more under-discussed veterinary issues, follow along. #cathealth #veterinarian #cats #catcare #heatedcatbed #kidneydiseasecat #seniorcat #kitten #catbehavior #petcaretips

🚨HELP: I just came across this TikTok and I am furious. This purple-bearded man actually attacked a woman just for caring enough to feed two stray cats in Brooklyn. Unbelievable. I want this POS to be called out and I want to rally my fellow New Yorkers to help this incredible woman find loving homes for these two beautiful cats. They deserve so much better than this cruelty. Please share this post even if you are not in NYC. Someone you know might be able to help. Let us make sure kindness wins. My DMs are open!!

Cats reduce the risk of death from heart attack by 33% — scientists A study by the University of Minnesota found that cat owners are less likely to die from cardiovascular diseases. Researchers followed more than 4,000 people over 20 years and discovered that those who keep cats at home have nearly a one-third lower risk of dying from myocardial infarction. According to cardiologist Mariano Napoli, interaction with cats reduces stress, blood pressure, and heart rate — all of which strengthen the heart. “Cats stabilize emotional well-being and have a pronounced cardioprotective effect,” he noted. Previously, the American Heart Association suggested that dogs reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease — but it now turns out that cats are even more effective.

This woman and her husband lived next to a local farmer. He passed away and his feral cats were suddenly left with nowhere to go. One day, a single cat showed up at their house, then two, then six, and at one point they had twelve! They were overwhelmed, a little frightened, but they were more heartbroken watching those sweet babies trying to survive the elements. They had all twelve of them fixed and taken to the vet for a thorough checkup. At first they made makeshift shelters for them. One day, she asked her husband if he could build a permanent fixture for them. To her surprise he said yes and they call it the “Catsle.” Though they are feral cats, the cats have become trusting of them and now they are part of the family. Look at that Cat Catsle! Beautiful! While some abuse animals and have no conscience, it’s people like this that give us hope. ❤️ Have you ever taken in some cats, dogs or maybe another animal from a neighbor or family member who passed away or maybe just couldn’t handle them? Anyone have a special space for their pet(s) like this?
